‘Love Island’: Will and Kyra Address Rumors They Knew Each Other Before the Show
Love Island season 3 stars Will Moncada and Kyra Lizama began as one of the strongest pairs. However, his behavior during Casa Amor, and then seemingly downplaying it to Kyra, caused many fans to turn on them. Therefore, the couple finished the season as runners-up. During their time on the series, rumors spread that the pair knew each other before entering the villa. The two addressed the claims following the season on the As You Should with Cely (Vazquez) and Justine (Ndiba) podcast.
Aimee Flores claimed Will Moncada and Kyra Lizama knew each other before the show
During an Aug. 9 Instagram Live with former Islanders Cashay Proudfoot, Melvin “Cinco” Holland Jr., and Javonny Vega, 26-year-old Aimee Flores claimed longstanding couple Will Moncada and Kyra Lizama knew each other before appearing on the dating series.
She claimed she used a phone before entering the villa and researched the other Islanders on Instagram. According to Aimee, she saw comments from Will on Kyra’s pictures.
She insisted the two knew each other before entering the villa, although she doesn’t know if they planned it, and noted she thought it was unfair.
Cashay claimed Kyra knew several of the Islanders cast for the show and other background information. Former Islander Christian Longnecker also shared a similar sentiment during an episode of After the Island, as he pointed out the previous social media exchanges between the two.
They addressed the rumors during an exit interview
Following the season, Kyra and Will, who finished as runners-up of the season, appeared on season 2 stars Cely Vazquez and Justine Ndiba’s podcast As You Should on Aug. 18, shortly after exiting the villa.
The ladies asked them about the rumor of them knowing each other before joining the show, and the two vehemently denied it. They claimed Will has a social media manager who liked and commented on Kyra’s pictures.
Although the couple does live close together, they stated they don’t have any mutual friends and have never run into each other.
However, the pair noted living only 15 minutes away from each other makes continuing dating after the villa easier as they both have struggled with maintaining long-distance relationships.

Immediately after entering the island, Kyra coupled up with Korey Gandy before Will joined later that day. When allowed to steal any girl for himself, the Columbian native chose Kyra as they instantly connected from the beginning.
They stayed together throughout the competition, hitting a hiccup during Casa Amor when he kissed Flo Mueller several times.
Although he revealed what happened to Kyra, other Islander Shannon St. Claire and many viewers felt he downplayed the situation with Flo. Additionally, the couple found out America didn’t like his behavior either during a challenge. Regardless, Kyra forgave and chose to stay with Will.
Despite his reluctance to put a label on their relationship, they officially started dating shortly before the finale. Even so, the fans voted newer couple Olivia Kaiser and Korey as their favorites over Will and Kyra, awarding them the $100,000 prize.
