Melody Holt says reconciliation with Martell is not in the cards

In a recent interview with Dr. Heavenly Kimes of Married to Medicine on her YouTube Channel, Melody addressed fans who say they want her and Martell to give their marriage a second shot. According to Melody, it’s not an option.

“That’s not anything I’m interested in, I would never be interested in,” she said. “I literally would die alone before I’d ever be with Martell. And I don’t say that…I don’t want you to think I’m trying to be mean about it but it’s the honest to God truth.”

Melody continued, adding that the continued disrespect and betrayal she experienced at the hands of her ex is the reason she’d never give him another chance. “When a person does so much and kind of shows you their character, shows you their lack of morals, integrity, and different things like that, why would you want to be with someone like that? It’s just not anything that even crosses my mind. Honestly, it doesn’t,” she said.

Why she says she has no regrets about her marriage or divorce

Many viewers did not understand why Melody chose to stay with Martell as he continued his five-year affair. According to Melody, once she discovered Martell’s affair, he had already been seeing the other woman for two years. She told Showbiz in an interview that infidelity was the first major hiccup in her marriage that she dealt with and ultimately wanted her marriage to work.

In her chat with Dr. Heavenly Kimes, she also said that Martell is a master manipulator and led her to believe that he’d be faithful and not cheat again. “I can say that I’ve learned that unfortunately there are some people who are really good at lying and manipulating you,” she said. “They can make you think, they can really make you think what they’re saying is the truth. ‘I ain’t doing it no more. I want my family.’ Blah, blah, blah, blah. And they will say it so convincingly that you fall for it and I did.”

Because she spent three years with Martell after learning of the affair and says she did all she could as far as making adjustments to try and make him happy, she’s able to have a clear conscience about her decision to walk away for good. “The fact that I gave my marriage as many chances as I did and as many years as I did, that’s why I have no regrets since I walked away,” she said. “That’s why I can sit here and say when you ask me if we’ll ever get back together, that’s why I can say no. Cause I already know what that over there is like over there, and I’m good with that.”

Martell Holt thought he’d be fired from the show due to his divorce from Melody

Melody’s ex has had a more difficult time moving on since their split. He goes back and forth with whether or not he wants Melody back. He also hasn’t been able to bounce back finally or even with his career.

With all of the struggles, the show’s executive producer Carlos King revealed in an interview with Richie Skye that Martell feared his job would be in jeopardy. “It’s interesting because I remember talking to Martell…So when it was officially happening that he was going through a divorce, he did ask me, ‘Does that mean I’m off the show?’ And I’m like, ‘No! Absolutely not,’” King said.

King believes Martell is central to the show. “Because think about it, when people see other reality shows, when a woman and her husband divorce, you don’t see the guy again,” he continued. “He vanishes off…never existed. Right? Well, Martell was like, ‘Is that going to happen to me?’ I said, ‘No. You have just as much of a story as anybody else on the show. Martell, it’s your show, too.’”
