‘LPBW’: Is Matt Roloff Building a New Home So He Can Leave Roloff Farms?
Fans are gearing up for a new season of Little People, Big World to start this spring. We know Season 14 left off with Amy Roloff telling ex-husband Matt Roloff she was going to sell him her half of Roloff Farms after living there for 30 years. And while the decision was tough, it was right for her, as she’s working on moving forward.
As for Matt, we’re not exactly sure what he plans to do with the farm. He’s told LPBW cameras in the past that he’d love to do away with the farm and move away from Oregon altogether. And now, he just posted plans to his Instagram that show he may be building a new home. Here’s what he posted.
Matt Roloff said he’d love to move off of Roloff Farms
Roloff Farms is going through major changes, as Amy bought a new place 15 minutes away and is working on bringing over all of her belongings from Roloff Farms. While Matt loves having the farm for his kids and grandkids, he’s talked about how difficult it’ll be to take care of it as he ages. And that’s especially true now that he’s the sole owner
On the show, In Touch Weekly reports Matt said, “There’s part of me that wants to keep the farm and build a house that suits me, but part of me just wants to sell the farm and liquidate it and move on. It’s a burden.”
Matt even talked to his Instagram followers about his real feelings about the property. He told an Instagram user, “I would love Amy to buy her side of the farm and let me move to AZ full time. She’s scared to death of the work and attention it would take.”
He posted plans for building a new house on his Instagram
So, where would Matt go if he got rid of Roloff Farms? We can’t forget that he also has a home in Surprise, Arizona, and he often visits the property with his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler. But aside from the home in the warmer state, it looks like Matt has another surprise project in store.
“Having a blast working on designing the ultimate @mattroloff project,” Matt captioned his post that shows his construction ideas. “Last week I attended the #ibs2020 (international builders show) to get all the latest and greatest construction ideas. … Now it’s time to express some pent-up creativity.”
He then added the hashtags #startingtoplan and #mydreamhome, letting his followers know the structure in question is a new house.
Matt is answering fan questions about the potential new house
Now that Matt is putting his plans in motion, some of his followers have questions. One follower warned Matt not to go too big with the home, especially since none of his kids are living on the property anymore. And Matt gave some more details about some of the house details he’s planning.
“Yep.. this is just a 2 bedroom. Plus a grandkid bunk room. Total is Under 3000 sqft. Lots of open outdoor covered space to stay out of the Oregon rain Looks much bigger then it is,” Matt wrote.
Another follower noted that it “must be nice” for Matt to build whatever he dreams of.
To that, he wrote back, “That’s my biggest problem.., what my mind can think up.. and what I can afford to build are 2 different things !”
Since Matt mentioned the new home he’s building is in Oregon, does that mean he’s putting it on Roloff Farms? Or is he planning on building elsewhere? He already told an Instagram follower he’s not sure what he’s doing with the farmhouse Amy lived in, so we’re not sure why he needs yet another home. Perhaps he wants his own space he created himself for a fresh start instead of taking over the farmhouse.
Given what Matt’s told his followers, it seems the most likely outcome is that this house is designed to be on Roloff Farms property. Despite plenty of talk about leaving the farm, it appears he’s staying after all.
