‘LPBW’: Jacob Roloff Lives a Completely Different Lifestyle in His Van Than His Siblings Do in Their Half-Million Dollar Homes
Those who’ve watched Little People, Big World are quite familiar with controversies surrounding Jacob Roloff. The youngest of Matt and Amy Roloff’s kids left the show on his own accord. And he took to Instagram to condemn the show for making his family into characters of their true selves.
Now, it’s been years since Jacob’s shown his face on reality TV. And he seems to be living an amazing, authentic life with his wife, Isabel, in their van. He’s certainly the only one of the four Roloff kids to choose this sort of lifestyle, though. Here’s how Jacob’s living situation compares to his siblings’.
Jacob Roloff and his wife, Isabel, travel in a van
Many travelers dream of living out of a van, but Jacob made it a reality. According to The Sun, Jacob and Isabel are traveling with their two dogs in a 1987 Westfalia camper van. Their goal is to visit 10 states and 10 national parks, and they’re using social media to document their journey.
Their van certainly isn’t skimping out on awesome features, either. The couple created a space for them to sleep comfortably, and they also have a small kitchen unit with a table attached.
So far, it looks like Jacob and Isabel are sticking it out in Bend, Oregon, though. “We will likely be in this area of Oregon for awhile,” the couple explained in June 2020. “It’s been so stormy, we have been getting rain and seeing lightning, we love it!”
The rest of Matt and Amy Roloff’s kids seem to live in huge houses
Jacob’s always been the black sheep of the family — and it seems the rest of his siblings aren’t nearly as adventurous when it comes to their living situations.
Jeremy and Audrey Roloff are raising their two kids in their Bend, Oregon, home. While the couple lived in Los Angeles early on in their relationship, they quickly figured out that they loved having the space and freedom that Oregon provides. For that reason, they moved into their two-story, four-bedroom home back in 2017, Daily Mail Online reports. The 2,700-square-foot home reportedly cost them $465,000.
Zach and Tori Roloff are also living a cozy life in their $600,000 house. They purchased the 2,600-square-foot home back in 2018, and it features five bedrooms, three bathrooms, an in-ground pool, a fire pit, a two-car garage, and plenty of beautiful outdoor space. Since the couple also has two young children, we’re sure they’re glad to have plenty of space to raise their family.
Fans have condemned Jacob’s van lifestyle
Going off the beaten path and doing exactly what he wants is very much what we expect from Jacob. And it seems he also has the support of Matt and Amy. Jacob and Isabel visited Jacob’s parents, and both Matt and Amy posted photos of the visits to their Instagrams.
“And they’re off!” Amy captioned her Instagram post from May 22. “Going to miss these two everyday @jacobroloff45 and @isabelsofiarock. They’re back on the road, van life, and looking for a home for one day soon. Thankfully not too far far away.”
Unfortunately, many of Amy’s followers aren’t pleased with how Jacob’s living his life.
“I want more for Jacob and so do Isabel’s parents, most likely,” a concerned follower commented. “Give it till the end of summer then find a job.”
“What is it that they do?” another questioned. “I mean why all of the traveling?”
Others seemed to love how adventurous Jacob and Isabel are, though. And given what Amy shared, it looks like these two may not be living the “van life” for much longer, as they’re in search of a permanent spot. Will the couple’s home be as big and expensive as the rest of the Roloffs’? We’ll have to wait and see.
