‘LPBW’: Jacob Roloff Says via Instagram He Was Sexually Abused by a Producer of the Show
Those who’ve kept up with Little People, Big World know all about the Roloff family. Jacob Roloff is the youngest of Matt and Amy Roloff’s kids, and he was the first one to leave the show on his own accord. Now, he’s coming forward on Instagram and claiming one of the producers of the show sexually abused him. Here’s what’s happening.
Jacob Roloff left ‘Little People, Big World’ years ago
Zach Roloff is the only child of Matt and Amy’s who’s stayed on the show through the years. And Jacob was the first to leave. Back in 2016, Jacob explained on Instagram why he chose to leave the TLC program. Ultimately, he hated seeing his family become different people on reality TV.
“For me, noticing how the agenda of the crew doesn’t work well with the health and happiness of our family is what made me decide quite a while ago that I would not be a part of it as soon as I was able,” Jacob wrote on Instagram. “All in all I appreciate people wanting me to ‘be with the family’ for a few more episodes, but the family that is filmed is not my family. They are the Roloff Characters and I have scarcely anything in common with them, nor do I want to be a character myself.”
Jacob also noted he would never take part in the show again — and he’s stuck to this. His wedding wasn’t filmed for TV, and he never makes on-screen cameos despite his siblings occasionally appearing.
Jacob wrote about the sexual abuse he allegedly endured from a show producer
On Dec. 15, 2020, Jacob wrote on his Instagram about the abuse he allegedly endured while filming as a child on Little People, Big World. According to Jacob, an executive field producer from the show groomed and molested him.
“I do not expect to provide details of this encounter at any point publicly,” Jacob continued. “I do hope he is never allowed around children again.”
He further explained the producer texted him once years after the abuse in November 2015, but he’s just coming forward with the info now. “I choose to disclose it now as it remains a traumatic memory that needs to be exorcised of any further power over my development,” he added.
As for his family, he noted he doesn’t blame them at all for what occurred. “It must finally be emphasized that all fault lies with the predator, and no fault lies with any of my family members.”
He’s getting a ton of support from fans and family
Jacob is getting a ton of support on the post from his family members for coming forward.
“Proud to know you, proud to love you, proud to be your wife,” his wife, Isabel Rock, commented on the post.
“Love you, George,” Tori Roloff, Zach’s wife, commented.
“I love you forever and always Jacob,” Amy wrote. “I’m proud of you. Now you don’t have to feel alone and carry this around anymore.”
Fans are also very proud of Jacob for speaking out and standing with other survivors.
“I grew up watching your family’s show and even though I don’t know you, as a 31-year-old mother myself, I applaud you and am so glad you got out of that toxicity,” a fan commented.
