‘LPBW’: Matt Roloff Is Currently Building on Roloff Farms Despite Talk of Leaving it All Behind
So far on Season 20 of Little People, Big World, the major focus has been on Amy Roloff. Amy’s doing her best to move off of Roloff Farms after her divorce from Matt Roloff, and she’s also now engaged to Chris Marek. But we can’t forget that a lot is going on with Matt, too. From his long-term relationship with Caryn Chandler to the fate of Roloff Farms, fans are wondering what’s going to happen in Matt’s life next.
Matt’s talked extensively about the future possibilities of Roloff Farms. And it seems clear that he may sell it or pass the property on to his kids. But for now, it looks like he’s still taking care of the farm — and he’s now building it up. Here’s what he’s doing now.
Matt Roloff might hand Roloff Farms down to one of his sons
Roloff Farms is as famous as the Roloffs themselves. While Amy knew that moving forward with her life post-divorce meant moving off of the farm, it certainly wasn’t an easy decision for her to make. And Matt is now also deciding how he wants to proceed as retirement looms.
“There’s part of me that wants to keep the farm and build a house that suits me, but part of me just wants to sell the farm and liquidate it and move on,” Matt said on the show. “It’s a burden.”
As for who might take it over, it seems Jeremy or Zach Roloff are the most likely candidates. Jeremy’s said on his Instagram multiple times that he hopes to own a farm one day. And Zach currently does a great job of helping out with pumpkin season.
“The ultimate scenario for me is that the twins would take over the farm and work together … but nobody likes to run that pumpkin patch like I do,” Matt said during an Instagram Live session.
He’s still enhancing Roloff Farms despite potentially selling it
Matt mentions the fate of the farm on nearly every current episode of LPBW. And we can’t forget that he has a second home in Surprise, Arizona, which he loves to go to for the sunshine and heat. Even so, it’s clear he still loves his creative projects, as he continues to build up the farm and enhance it despite talking about leaving it behind.
On April 2, Matt posted a photo of a Silkie chicken to his Instagram. “Is this a kind you are getting? I heard you on the live say you were getting some chicks,” a follower asked.
“Yes. Very impressed. You must have been paying attention:)),” Matt answered.
New animals aside, he also posted a model for a new building he’d love to construct back in January. “Having a blast working on designing the ultimate @mattroloff project,” he captioned the post. “Last week I attended the #ibs2020 (international builders show) to get all the latest and greatest construction ideas.”
Matt just showed a new building he’s adding to the property
Matt’s not finished with the projects just yet. On May 14, he added a few videos of himself to his Instagram Story that show him driving an excavator on Roloff Farms.
“I’m getting ready to attack a lot of projects. … Now, we’re going for some logs!” he explained while driving heavy machinery.
“What do you do in the middle of a pandemic? You build a cabin! Another place to go,” Matt yelled to a camera further away on the farm. The camera then pans over a huge stack of logs.
We’re excited to see what Matt has in mind for this cabin, as we didn’t see this one coming in the beginning. And we’re also glad he’s keeping busy during the coronavirus (COVID-19) social isolation orders!
