‘Lucifer’: Who Plays Adam in Season 6? Here’s Where You Know Scott MacArthur From
Lucifer introduced Eve (Inbar Lavi) when season 4 arrived on Netflix, having the first woman show up in Los Angeles and rekindle her relationship with Tom Ellis’ devil. While Eve played a fairly prominent role from that point onward, her Biblical beau made a late debut in the series. Lucifer Season 6 finally introduced Adam — but who plays him in the new season, and where will fans recognize the actor from?
Scott MacArthur plays Adam in ‘Lucifer’ Season 6
Lucifer introduces Adam in Season 6 Episode 7, “My Best Friend’s Wedding.” He shows up as Eve and Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) are planning their wedding — an awkward time to arrive considering he’s Eve’s husband. Just as Maze insists nothing will ruin their wedding day, Adam tells Eve it’s time to return to Heaven. Let’s just say the whole thing doesn’t go over so well.
And the actor who portrays Adam in Lucifer handles the role impressively, making viewers sympathize with him even as they actively root against him. As for who brings Adam to life, that honor goes to Scott MacArthur.
MacArthur’s character may not be the most likable character on Lucifer, but he’s played worse. Where might fans recognize him from?
Fans might recognize Scott MacArthur from ‘El Camino’
If MacArthur looks familiar, that’s because he’s appeared in a few other well-known projects — one of them also a Netflix property. The actor played Neil in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. His character helps build Jack Welker’s (Michael Bowen) meth lab. That includes the area used to imprison Jesse Pink (Aaron Paul) — making MacArthur complicit in the horrible things that happen to the film’s main character.
Those who don’t recognize MacArthur from El Camino might know him from The Righteous Gemstones. He played Scotty for eight episodes of the HBO series. Additionally, he brought Jimmy to life for 36 episodes of Fox’s The Mick.
According to IMDb, MacArthur also appeared in Mad Men before playing Adam in Lucifer. By the time he stepped into Adam’s shoes, he had plenty of experience on hit TV series. So, what happens to his character in Lucifer Season 6?
What happens to Adam in ‘Lucifer’ Season 6?
Despite using Adam to comment on toxic masculinity, Lucifer Season 6 gives MacArthur’s character a chance to grow. After he arrives on Earth and attempts to bring Eve back to Heaven, Adam realizes how aimless his life there is.
Although he doesn’t fix his shortcomings overnight, Adam does eventually come to understand why Eve left. He even offers to give her away at her wedding, a suggestion she declines. The show makes it clear he at least wants to better himself — though it doesn’t really give him the screen time to do so.
Outside of his one appearance, Adam doesn’t add much to Lucifer Season 6. The series mentioned him so often, it seemed inevitable he would show up before it ended. However, he doesn’t stick around long or bring much to the overarching plot. Still, it’s entertaining to see what Lucifer‘s version of Adam looks like — and his appearance gives fans a chance to understand Eve better.
