Lucy Hale Is Reportedly the One Who Reached Out to Colton Underwood After Cassie Randolph Split
Pretty Little Liars actor Lucy Hale and former bachelor Colton Underwood were recently spotted out hiking together in Los Angeles.
As Bachelor fans know, Underwood and his season winner Cassie Randolph announced that they’d split on May 29. In his Instagram announcement, the former football player wrote that “sometimes people are just meant to be friends.” And Randolph wrote that she’d like to remain close with her ex.

On July 17, TMZ reported that Underwood and Hale were out hiking together sans masks.
“The ex-‘Bachelor’ went on a hike with Lucy Wednesday at Paseo Miramar Trail in Los Angeles’ scenic Pacific Palisades neighborhood, and as you can see … Colton and Lucy were pretty sweaty, close and without masks,” reported the site.
A source told the publication that this wasn’t Underwood and Hale’s first hike. Apparently, they’ve had a few “casual hike dates” over the last few weeks.
TMZ also reported that Hale was the one to reach out to Underwood. The former football player caught Hale’s eye even before he became the bachelor, as she’s a fan of the franchise.
“I’m super excited that Colton is the Bachelor. I thought it was gonna be [Jason Tartick], but I see why they want Colton. I mean, he’s wholesome. He’s a good guy, it seems like. He’s really beautiful to watch,” she told People in 2018.
Another source told E! News that, in addition to their hike dates, Underwood has been spending time at Hale’s house recently.
“Colton has spent time at Lucy’s house these past couple of weeks and they have gone on a few casual dates. It’s all very new but they have known each other for a while through mutual friends,” they said.

Underwood and Randolph may have ended their relationship with the intention of remaining friends, but things have gotten messy between the two exes in the past couple of weeks.
After Randolph was interviewed by Chris Harrison on The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever!, Underwood took to Instagram to throw some shade Randolph’s way (at least, that’s what fans and Underwood’s ex believe).
“When our relationship ended we agreed to handle things as privately as possible as we attempted to navigate our new relationship as friends. I chose to do that since we were living in this interim period, but obviously a lot changed this week,” he wrote.
Randolph shot back on her stories to ask Underwood to “refrain from prolonging our breakup, or dragging me, when we both know it’s unwarranted.” She also accused him of planning to “monetize” their split.
Since then, there hasn’t been anymore online drama between Randolph and Underwood.
Only time will tell if things will work out between Underwood and Hale. For now, it looks like everybody’s keeping things casual.
