Maddie Ziegler Gives Fans a Glimpse Into Her Relationship With Boyfriend, Eddie Benjamin
When it comes to couples in young Hollywood, Maddie Ziegler and her boyfriend, Eddie Benjamin, certainly wield a lot of power. Ziegler has been in the spotlight since childhood thanks to her stint on Dance Moms and various collaborations with Sia. Benjamin, on the other hand, is a musician on the rise and has also nabbed the title of Justin Bieber’s mentee. But what is it like for these famous and über-successful teens to be in a relationship with one another?
How did Maddie Ziegler meet her boyfriend, Eddie Benjamin?
Like many modern couples, Ziegler and Benjamin’s relationship began online. The Fallout star was familiar with Benjamin’s music and she messaged him on Instagram. “It was so random,” Ziegler shared with Harper’s Bazaar Singapore. “I was a fan of him on Instagram and we started talking.” After a fair amount of communication, they decided to meet up with friends at a mall called The Grove in Los Angeles.
Though Ziegler and her boyfriend hit it off, they were actually friends for a while before entering into a romantic relationship. They kept in contact despite the fact that Benjamin lived on the other side of the world prior to relocating to LA. “He got on a flight back to Australia that very night,” the dancer admitted. “It was so quick, and we were friends for over a year before we got together.”

Though Benjamin and Ziegler started out as friends, entering into a relationship seemed very natural to them. They both treated each other with kindness and respect. Furthermore, since they both possess a strong work ethic, they had great appreciation and admiration for each other’s careers. In fact, Ziegler stars in Benjamin’s music video, Speechless. Ziegler has even gone on record stating that Benjamin is the hardest working person that she knows.
And Benjamin isn’t shy about expressing his love for Ziegler either. In the aforementioned interview, he cited her creativity as something that really drew him in. “I was just so drawn to Maddie as a person,” he admitted. “She’s so warm and loving and artistic. There are certain people in this world who are just a little more colorful than others and she’s definitely one of them.”

Of course, there are adjustments to make within any relationship. For Benjamin, that meant acclimating to the sheer amount of attention that Ziegler garners on a daily basis. Though the “Running Away From Home” singer has fans of his own, he wasn’t used to just how famous Ziegler was.
“It’s pretty intense… it takes some time to get used to!” Benjamin shared about being in the spotlight with Ziegler. “Walking out on the streets with Maddie and getting paparazzied for the first time was definitely a shock. I came from a beach, so that shift was like, ‘Whoa, OK! What’s going on?’”

Ultimately though, Ziegler and Benjamin seem very happy with one another. The pair aren’t just a couple but also best friends. They are constantly showing support for each other personally and professionally. And, like many besties, they even share clothes on a regular basis, often taking the other into consideration when purchasing new outfits.
“We wear each other’s clothes a lot of the time,” Ziegler admitted. “Eddie looks good in everything I own. It’s actually funny when we go into stores. I feel like I look in the men’s section and Eddie looks in the women’s.” Clearly, the pair’s artistic nature extends toward fashion also. We’re sure fans can’t wait to see what the famous duo creates next.
