Madonna Reportedly Staying at Same Italian Villa Where Kourtney Kardashian Tied the Knot
Madonna was spotted strolling the picturesque streets of Portofino, Italy, on August 13. The “Material Girl” singer walked hand-in-hand with her rumored boyfriend Akeem Morris, a Jamaican-born soccer player, as they were swamped by fans and paparazzi.
The apparent couple’s romantic Italian vacation comes amid reports that the Grammy-winning superstar is preparing to celebrate her upcoming 66th birthday with a private evening tour of the ruins of Pompeii.
“She loves Pompeii, loves the archaeological park, and can’t wait to come,” Naples Prefect Michele Di Bari said Tuesday, according to the AP. However, Di Bari denied reports that Madonna was planning a big party at the ruined city, which was destroyed in A.D. 79 following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, saying her planned visit was strictly cultural in nature.
Kourtney Kardashian wed Travis Barker at Dolce and Gabbana’s Italian villa
During her visit to Italy, Madonna is reportedly staying at a home owned by fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, according to the Italian press (via Instagram). The pair own an estate in Portofino where they frequently host celebrity guests. The striking property on the Italian Riviera boasts breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and has been featured in Vogue.
In May 2022, Villa Olivetta served as a glamorous venue for Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s third wedding, after their practice ceremony in Vegas and a courthouse affair in Santa Barbara, Calif. Guests at Kardashian and Barker’s wedding were ferried to the ceremony by boat.
A year later, pop singer Sia also tied the knot at Villa Olivetta. She wed her boyfriend Dan Bernad in a small ceremony attended by just six guests, People reported.
Madonna turns 66 on August 16
Madonna will celebrate her 66th birthday on August 16. In May, she wrapped up her “Celebration” tour in Rio De Janeiro, where she played a free show on the beach in Copacabana. An estimated 1.6 million people attended the event, CBS News reported.
With her 12th tour behind, Madonna is now enjoying her time in Italy. The trip is particularly special given the health issues she faced last summer, a source told The Sun.
“Madonna is living her life to the absolute full and has spent a fortune on this birthday bash to celebrate with her nearest and dearest,” the source said. “She had a big scare when she got ill last summer before her Celebration Tour and now wants to embrace every minute.”
