BTS released their song ‘Make It Right’ off of ‘Map of the Soul: Persona’

Map of the Soul: Persona came with several fan-favorite BTS songs. That includes the group number, “Make It Right.” Since its release, this song earned over 150 million plays on the streaming platform Spotify.

The BTS members, in turn, performed this song while visiting The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. When it comes to the masterminds behind this song, though, Sheeran is one of the songwriters.

“Really suddenly, he had like a little shout out in his Instagram. He said that he liked our album,” RM said of Sheeran during an interview with Radio.com. “Everybody was very happy because Ed said he liked our album.”

Ed Sheeran collaborated with BTS for ‘Make It Right’

Just like the title, according to Elite Daily, this song is about making things right with the person that you love. Although there were a few co-writers for this song, the BTS members credit it as a “delicate” collaboration track with Sheeran.

“On our album Persona, ‘Make It Right’ is by Ed Sheeran,” RM said during an interview with Rolling Stone. “He is also one of our idols and he called our label and said he wanted to give a song to us as a present. It turns out that it’s a really great song.”

BTS members like RM, J-Hope, and Suga often play a role in writing the songs for this boy band, with RM even earning songwriting credits for the Map of the Soul: Persona song “Boy With Luv.”

“Boy With Luv” also featured the artist Halsey, singing alongside the boy band. For the group’s latest album, Be (Deluxe Edition,) some members branched out to write, produce, and even direct original content.
