Makeup Brand Denies Claims That Amber Heard Used Its Product to Cover Bruises
These past few weeks, the entertainment world has been rocked by the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The couple was together from 2015 to 2016, and Heard alleged she was a victim of domestic abuse during the marriage—something Depp is denying.
Makeup brand Milani unexpectedly came up during discussions about the case. There were claims that Heard used its product to cover bruises, but the brand denied them.
Amber Heard’s lawyer said the actor used concealer to hide her bruises
According to People, on April 12, Heard’s attorney Elaine Bredehoft explained to the jury how Heard covered alleged bruises on her face. The lawyer held up Milani Cosmetics’ All-In-One Correcting Kit, though she did not mention Milani or the product’s name.
“This is what Amber carried in her purse for the entire relationship with Johnny Depp,” Bredehoft said. “She’s an actor — do you honestly think she would have left her apartment ever without makeup? Do you think she would ever have wanted other people to see her bruises and cuts? This is what she used. She became very adept at it.”
Bredehoft added, “You’re gonna hear the testimony from Amber about how she had to mix the different colors for the different days of the bruises as they developed, and the different colorings and how she would use these to touch those up to be able to cover those. She also used concealer, foundation. … Amber didn’t even leave her bedroom without foundation on.”

This part of the trial has turned many people’s attention to Milani. On April 22, the company took to its TikTok page to refute claims that Heard used its correcting kit. In a video, Milani shared that the kit Bredehoft held up in court was not released until 2017, a year after Heard and Depp’s marriage had ended.
The company also said in a statement to People, “Milani Cosmetics can confirm that the palette in question — the Milani Cosmetics Conceal + Perfect All-in-One Correcting Kit — did not launch until December 2017. Our video was to verify the claim that our eagle-eyed and loyal fanbase made about the product named in the trial. Milani Cosmetics is not taking a formal stance on the trial, evidence or future outcome of the case.”
However, a source close to Heard allegedly told the outlet that “Heard’s lawyer was using an example of the kind of makeup that she used.”
Amber Heard has been diagnosed with 2 personality disorders
One of Depp’s witnesses is clinical and forensic psychologist Shannon Curry. According to Curry—who conducted 12 hours of interviews with Heard and reviewed her mental health records—Heard does not have post-traumatic stress disorder like the actor claimed. However, Curry believes Heard has borderline personality disorder (BPD) and histrionic personality disorder (HPD), as reported by Time.
Curry stated that having BPD “seems to be a predictive factor for women who implement violence against their partner.” This appears to back up Depp’s claims that Heard abused him during their relationship.
Meanwhile, a person with HPD has a high need to be in the center of attention and would even “utilize their looks” to achieve that goal, Curry said. The psychologist also noted that HPD is associated with “drama and shallowness.”
