Manny From ‘Modern Family’ Did His Own ‘Hamilton’ Spoof for His College Application
This Modern Family character always had a passion for theater. It was only fitting that for his Julliard audition, Manny Delgado incorporated a parody of the Broadway musical, Hamilton, into his application.

Even as a child, this Modern Family character was writing poetry and performing in school plays. With his love for theater, Manny Delgado wanted to pursue the arts once he graduated high school.
One of his most important college applications was to The Juilliard School in New York City. During the “Weathering Heights” episode of season 6, he showed Jay and Gloria his video application, which was a parody of “Alexander Hamilton” from the Tony Award-winning musical, Hamilton.
“How does an artsy, well-read, child of divorce, a Colombian, dropped in the middle of a forgotten plot in suburbia with confident,” Manny rapped. Jay paused the video and said, “you copied that, from that play, Hamilton, right?”
“It’s okay, Papi,” Gloria reassured her son. “Maybe the people in New York haven’t heard about Hamilton.”
Where did Manny from ‘Modern Family’ go to college?
Presumably, Manny didn’t get into Julliard, even with his new and improved video application. Fans did learn that he got into at least six colleges, two of which were Boston University and the University of Michigan.
According to Modern Family Fandom, during the “Commencement” episode of this series, Manny mentions that he’s attending the California Institute of Arts with dreams of becoming a playwright. It’s this school that allows him the travel home frequently and spend time with his extended family.
Where did the other ‘Modern Family’ characters attend college?
Manny does appear at college for a few episodes of this series. The first day he moved into his dorm, at least three roommates left after seeing his family or learning about his white noise machine.
He even entertained a few relationships. Meanwhile, Luke Dunphy didn’t get into most of the colleges he applied to. After working for several months at Jay’s country club, he applied to community college and began taking classes there.
In one of the final episodes of Modern Family, Luke revealed that he had been accepted to the University of Oregon would attend the university.
Alex, as the smartest member of the Dunphy family, attended CalTech for biochemistry. Haley, the eldest of the Dunphy children, briefly attended college before being kicked out for underage drinking, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer.
When the series ended, this extended family moved away from each other. Manny, who previously attended college, planned on embarking on a year-long trip to explore the world.
