Taylor Swift keeps on releasing her re-recorded songs including a just-announced duet with Maren Morris. Swift announced on March 24 that she’ll be putting out a never-heard-before single with the fellow country artist. This song will be included on the Fearless (Taylor’s Version) album. Fans are speculating just who else she might collaborate with on the new versions of her old songs.

Taylor Swift and Maren Morris sing ‘You All Over Me (From The Vault)’

Swift surprised her fans on March 24 when she shared a new Instagram post announcing her Morris collaboration. The new song, “You All Over Me (From The Vault),” will include background vocals from Morris. Fans also get a treat in that this is an unreleased song of Swift’s from her original Fearless era.

“One thing I’ve been loving about these From The Vault songs is that they’ve never been heard, so I can experiment, play, and even include some of my favorite artists,” Swift said. Her statement implied there will be more duets on original songs in her re-recorded albums.

Who else could Swift work with on the re-recorded albums? Fans have speculated on a few options that make sense given Swift’s history.

Taylor Swift could work with people she’s never sang with before

Back in 2019, when Swift made her “You Need to Calm Down” music video, she buried the hatchet with Katy Perry. Swift extended an olive branch by including Perry in the music video. Fans have been wondering and hoping for a Perry collaboration on a re-recorded song. Their biggest hope? A Perry feature on “Bad Blood.”

Some fans are theorizing about a Taylor Nation Instagram account picture. They believe the location matches the one from “Out of the Woods.” That song was reportedly about an accident she was in with Harry Styles, so now fans want a collaboration with the One Direction member on the re-release. After their friendly latest run-in at the 2021 Grammys, anything is possible between the two pop icons.

Other fans have been vocal about Swift possibly working with Beatles legend Paul McCartney. While the two haven’t worked together in any music sense, they did a “Musicians on Musicians” interview for Rolling Stone in November 2020. Plus, McCartney’s daughter Stella collaborated on merchandise during Swift’s Lover era. Swift working with the older McCartney seems like a natural progression of that familial working relationship.

And of course, after Swift has collaborated with producer Jack Antonoff so closely over the years, it only makes sense for people to want her to work with another Antonoff-produced favorite — Lorde. Swift and Lorde had a highly-publicized friendship in the mid-2010s. Even though Lorde hasn’t released music since her 2017 album Melodrama, a Swift collaboration would be a long time coming for the Scorpio star.

Taylor Swift could also bring back people from tour like Hayley Kiyoko

One thing — besides both being country music artists — that Swift and Morris have in common is that they performed together on tour. Morris and Swift sang “The Middle” together on the Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018.

Other singers who were guest performers on the tour included: Troye Sivan, Hayley Kiyoko, Niall Horan, Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, Sugarland, and more.

Swift has already worked with Mendes and Sugarland on songs before — “Lover Remix” and “Babe,” respectively.

But if Swift bringing a guest from her tour is any indication of future collaborations for a re-recorded vault song — well then, we can’t wait to see who’s next.
