It’s no secret that Mariah Carey loves Christmas. Her song “All I Want For Christmas Is You” has become a classic Christmas carol, and she’s celebrating Christmas in 2020 with her own TV special featuring Ariana Grande and more.

2020 has been a big year for Mariah Carey

2020 marks 30 years since Mariah Carey’s debut in 1990. And as someone who’s known for being festive, Carey celebrated her anniversary in many ways.

Carey’s highly anticipated memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey was released in September. In it, Carey divulged some of her most personal stories and revealed parts of her childhood that she’s never spoken about before. The book’s release was accompanied by The Rarities, an album of unreleased material dating back to her early career.

On December 4, Carey is also celebrating her favorite time of year in a big way. Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special will be released on Apple TV+ and features stars such as fellow whistle tone singer Ariana Grande.

Mariah Carey is launching her own cookie brand

In addition to her Christmas special, Carey has another big project debuting on December 4. Mariah’s Cookies is Carey’s new brand of cookies, complete with Christmastime flavors just in time for the holidays.

Those with a craving for some classic holiday flavors will get to choose from gingerbread, white chocolate-cranberry, and pumpkin cookies to enjoy. And for the rest of the year, fans with a sweet tooth will get to choose between flavors such as chocolate chunk, triple chocolate chunk, and spiced oatmeal raisin.

Restaurateur and co-founder of Virtual Dining Concepts (the backers of the project) Robert Earl expressed his excitement in a statement. “Mariah and I have chatted over the years about working together on a food business and, with her love of baking, cookies were a natural fit,” Earl said. “It has been an inspiration to work with Mariah to develop this brand.”

Mariah’s Cookies is launching as a “virtual” brand, which means the recipes and name can be licensed by local restaurants in various locations. It will also be limited to deliveries only. Major cities in the US such as Los Angeles and New York will get to experience Mariah’s Cookies using services such as Postmates, UberEats, GrubHub, DoorDash, and Seamless.

Mariah Carey isn’t the only pop star with their own cookies

Mariah’s Cookies may seem like an innovative new venture from a pop star, but there’s another singer who’s also launching their own line of sweet snacks.

Lady Gaga announced that she’s partnering with beloved snack brand Oreo to create limited edition Chromatica Oreos designed after her Grammy-nominated album. The Oreos, similar to the album’s color scheme, will be pink on the outside and green on the inside.

Gaga announced the collaboration on Twitter and Instagram. “We decided it was a good idea to have the Chromatica Oreo, which is a pink cookie with green filling,” Gaga said excitedly, showing off the vibrant packaging.

The official Oreo Twitter account expressed their excitement as well, saying the “cookies inspired by Chromatica and Lady Gaga” are “dropping soon.”
