‘Married at First Sight’ Alums Congratulate Deonna and Greg After They Announce Pregnancy
Another Married at First Sight family is growing. A little over a month after alums Anthony D’Amico and Ashley Petta revealed they were expecting their second child, another couple has announced a pregnancy. Season 9’s Deonna McNeill and Greg Okotie will soon welcome baby no. 1, they shared on Instagram.
Introducing ‘Okotie Party of 3’
McNeill and Okotie met — and married — less than two years ago, during season 9 of the Lifetime reality show. The pair walked down the aisle on March 21, 2019. They decided to stay married at the end of the experiment and are currently appearing on the Married at First Sight spinoff Couples’ Cam.
Now, they are growing their family. McNeill revealed the exciting news Sept. 10 on Instagram when she shared a photo of her and her husband in matching white shirts holding a sign that read “Okotie Party of 3.”
“It’s true, we’re expanding our family!! What a blessing?! Thank you all for all of the well wishes and blessings on our family,” the mom-to-be wrote.
Okotie shared the news that he was going to be a dad with a cute Instagram post of the couple’s dog Sandy wearing a bandana with the words “Promoted to Big Sister” printed on it.
Other ‘Married at First Sight’ couples congratulate Greg and Deonna
Soon after McNeill and Okotie shared their happy news, the congratulations started to roll in.
“So happy for you both!!!” Amber Bowles, who appeared on MAFS Season 9 with the couple, commented on McNeill’s post.
“CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I’m so happy for you guys!!!!” wrote season 1’s Jamie Otis, who gave birth to her second child with her MAFS match Doug Hehner in May 2020.
Jessica Studer, Kristine Killingsworth, Stephanie Sersen, and Sonia Granados were among the other Married at First Sight alums who offered well wishes to McNeill and Okotie.
Greg and Deonna are the 5th ‘MAFS’ couple to have kids
Many of the relationships on Married at First Sight don’t make it past the end of the season. But over the years, a few couples have proven they’re in it for the long haul. Not only have they stayed married to the person the experts picked for them, they’ve gone on the start families together.
So far, five of the dozens of couples who have appeared on MAFS since it premiered in 2014 have decided to have kids (including McNeill and Okotie). In addition to Petta and D’Amico and Otis and Hehner, Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre from season 6 had a daughter named Laura in 2018. Danielle Bergman and Bobby Dodd from season 7 had a daughter named Olivia in 2019; in June 2020, the couple announced they were expecting a second child.
