‘Married at First Sight’: Bennett Makes a Permanent Change for Amelia Ahead of Decision Day; Dr. Pepper Thinks They Were ‘Fated’ to Be Together
Married at First Sight season 11 fans were convinced that Bennett Kirschner and Amelia Fatsi would make it from the very beginning. Their shared effervescence, free-spiritedness, and zest for life made the 28-year-old artistic director and the 27-year-old MD seem like the perfect match.
On October 28, Bennett and Amelia’s Decision Day send-off seemed to prove Married at First Sight fans right. Their final choice was as lighthearted, passionate, and humor-filled as viewers have come to expect from the offbeat couple.
The well-matched couple exchanged sweet words about their time together
Bennett seemed to go into Decision Day with high hopes, telling Married at First Sight producers he’d experienced a “truly transformative relationship” with Amelia over the previous four months – and he had a surprise for her to prove it.
Amelia, too, seemed giddy and excited to reach Decision Day at last. She reflected on how thankful she was to have been in quarantine with Bennett during the height of the COVID-19 crisis.
“In this moment that we’re going through such strange, intense, unpredictable times, I felt so grateful –for one, to be quarantined with someone that I liked so much, and liked being around,” Amelia told the Married at First Sight experts. What’s more, she added, Bennett’s perspective on life had given her another “lens” with which to view the world.
Revealing that she appreciated her husband’s “willingness to glide through life” with optimism and openness, Amelia added that she was thankful to be moving for her residency with a beloved partner. Bennett had even told her that the move could “boost his creativity” because he would have new experiences and get to see the world in a new way.
Bennett, too, had words of gratitude to share with his wife.
“You’ve helped me stay afloat,” he told her sweetly. “This is the first serious romantic relationship in which a sense of love and adoration has not been coupled with a sense of danger. I feel very safe in your presence, and I also am very passionate about you.”
Bennett revealed a tattoo that demonstrated his commitment
That’s when things took a turn for the unexpected – or, possibly, the expected, in terms of Amelia and Bennett.
Praising his wife’s humor and generous spirit, Bennett told Amelia, “It’s been nothing but a source of joy having you in my life.” To that end, he had a surprise to reveal. But Amelia and the experts probably didn’t expect his surprise to be under his pants, which he began to take down by the waistband.
“I thought he was taking off his pants,” Pastor Cal Roberson said incredulously – but Dr. Pepper Schwartz told him that, yes, that’s exactly what was happening!
It was Dr. Viviana Coles who first got a glimpse of the tattoo: Amelia’s initials inside a heart, just above Bennett’s butt. Everyone in the room couldn’t get enough of the unexpected surprise, with Pastor Cal even calling Bennett a “beast.”
Amelia was too shocked to speak at first, but finally she, too, agreed that she and Bennett were meant to be.
“Well, I love you a lot, and you now have my initials tattooed on your butt,” the Married at First Sight star said. “So of course, I definitely want to stay married.”
“It is such an absurd surprise,” she told Lifetime producers. “But I love it. Tattoo my initials on his butt?! Man! I guess this means we’re probably gonna be married forever.”
The ‘Married at First Sight’ experts believed the marriage was ‘fate’
As they toasted Bennett and Amelia’s decision, the experts reflected on the serendipity of the relationship. After all, the couple had even briefly met before appearing on the show, and they seemed like two peas in a pod.
“In my tradition, there are things called beshert,” Dr. Pepper told the happy couple. “They’re fated. And I’ve always felt that this one was fated and perfect. So, to a perfect marriage and the best life that can possibly be lived.”
As for Bennett, he said he couldn’t possibly be happier, either. When he signed up for Married at First Sight, he was “throwing himself into the unknown and hoping for the best” – and he believed he had, indeed, been fortunate enough to find “the best.”
