‘Married at First Sight’: Briana and Vincent Have Their First Fight
Briana Morris, a 28-year-old engineer, and Vincent Morales, a 27-year-old auto broker, seemed like a perfect match to many fans when they tied the knot on Lifetime’s Married at First Sight season 12 in Atlanta.
Briana and Vincent both seemed ready for commitment and excited about the prospect of a long-term relationship. Their physical attraction was intense, too, and they consummated their marriage early on during their honeymoon.
But on the Feb. 17 episode of Married at First Sight, “Defending Your Wife,” there was trouble in paradise when Vincent and Briana had their first marital disagreement.
Briana admitted that Vincent had annoyed her
At Briana and Vincent’s wedding, even Briana’s bridesmaids didn’t deny that she could sometimes be “bossy.” Vincent assured his wife that it wouldn’t be a problem unless he didn’t feel he was being treated right. But on the latest Married at First Sight episode, the issue finally started to crop up between the couple.
Snuggled in bed on their honeymoon, Briana asked her husband, “Have I annoyed you yet?”
“Next question,” Vincent laughed, hinting that something she’d done had gotten on his nerves.
For Briana’s part, she was willing to admit that she didn’t always like Vincent’s silence or lack of attention.
“You don’t pay attention sometimes,” she complained. “I’m like, Vincent. Vincent. Vincent. Vincent. Vincent!”
Vincent didn’t take too kindly to Briana’s complaint about her pet peeve. He seemed to clam up and shut down, simply turning off the light in response.
Vincent said Briana could sometimes be ‘bossy’
In a conversation with Married at First Sight producers, Vincent confessed that Briana could sometimes be a little overbearing or domineering. Admitting that Briana could sometimes be “bossy,” he worried it would become an issue in their marriage in the future.
“I take my time with things, and I don’t like to be rushed,” Vincent said. “And I don’t care who you are. You’re gonna get what you’re gonna get. And I’m not changing.”
Vincent called himself a “patient person.” But he also wanted Briana’s patience in return – and his privacy and space when he needed it.
The ‘Married at First Sight’ couple agreed to keep trying to improve their relationship
Vincent and Briana hashed things out about their first marital disagreement the next day. Briana said she was worried that Vincent would “blow up on her” if he suppressed his true feelings when she annoyed him – especially because his family members told her he could have a temper at times.
“You’re holding everything in, you’re bottling everything up, and suddenly you explode,” the Married at First Sight star predicted.
Instead, she encouraged him to be truthful with her about what he wanted her to change. She admitted she needed to make some adjustments and learn to change some of her behavior if she wanted their marriage to work.
“We’re each other’s safe space,” Briana said, with Vincent agreeing wholeheartedly.
The Married at First Sight couple made it through their first clash by talking through the problem. They agreed to go to each other with their issues in the future as their relationship progressed.
