Elizabeth Bice and Jamie Thompson face COVID-19, quarantine, and a major move together in a Showbiz Cheat Sheet exclusive preview clip of the upcoming Feb. 11 episode of Lifetime’s Married at First Sight: Couples Cam season 2. The self-shot series – designed for the unexpected challenges of the global pandemic – is produced by Kinetic Content and airs on Lifetime every Thursday at 8 p.m. EST.

Jamie and Beth were matched by the Married at First Sight experts on season 9 in Charlotte. Since then, the once-tumultuous couple has remained happily married. They weathered one move to the Bay Area together. But they decide to head for the sunnier skies of Southern California in Santa Barbara in this Married at First Sight: Couples Cam preview.

Jamie Thompson and Elizabeth Bice endured quarantine and COVID-19 diagnoses in the Bay Area

Beth and Jamie recount the many stresses of life in quarantine in the latest Married at First Sight: Couples Cam preview clip. Not only did they have to go through the COVID-19 crisis in their Bay Area apartment, but they also contracted COVID-19 themselves.

“Jamie and I had all these expectations and a lot of high hopes for the big city,” Beth says.

“And then the pandemic happened,” Jamie adds.

Flashback clips showed Jamie and Elizabeth on the couch, too tired and sick to move, in their small apartment in the San Francisco area. Meanwhile, Elizabeth – ever the creative innovator – tried a “holistic approach” to the virus, which included crystals, liquid supplement shots, and chanting.

The ‘Married at First Sight’ couple decided to move to Santa Barbara

After being in their apartment “24/7,” Jamie and Beth realized they wanted a change.

“There’s just a lot of bad juju here,” Beth says in the Married at First Sight: Couples Cam clip. “We’re tired of sitting in this apartment.”

Ultimately, the Married at First Sight couple decided they wanted a permanent change of scenery in Santa Barbara.

“So we’re going to move to Santa Barbara, where at least we can enjoy a little bit of beach and a little bit of nature,” Beth continues.

Elizabeth and Jamie had actually visited Santa Barbara a few months earlier, so the Married at First Sight couple knew what they were getting into. As for Elizabeth, she realized that the slower pace and warmer weather were “definitely more her speed.”

Beth and Jamie sometimes struggled to navigate their stressful move

While Jamie and Beth have come a long way from their “basic Caucasian sex” and table-flipping days, they still have their moments of conflict and crisis. The stress of moving started to get to the couple, especially when Jamie’s perfectionism and neatness clashed with Beth’s go-with-the-flow brand of organized chaos.

“Let me explain something to you guys,” Beth says conspiratorially in the Married at First Sight preview. “Jamie and I have been butting heads while moving. He’s super neat. I am not.”

“I’m organized,” Jamie adds.

“I’m an organized mess,” Beth jokes.

Ultimately, Beth and Jamie did make it to Santa Barbara. But it looks like they had a few hiccups and obstacles along the way.
