On Lifetime’s Married at First Sight, the experts who arrange legal marriages for strangers sometimes hit it out of the park. Plenty of MAFS couples end up in happy marriages with children.

In other cases, fans wonder what exactly the experts were thinking. On Married at First Sight Season 10, there are two cast members who have many viewers scratching their heads: Brandon Reid, who married Taylor Dunklin, and Michael Watson, who married Meka Jones.

During the Jan. 29 episode of Married at First Sight, “Trouble in Paradise,” many critics took to Twitter to express confusion about why both Brandon and Michael signed up to be married to a stranger in the first place.

‘Married at First Sight’ viewers thought Brandon’s behavior was inappropriate

Brandon and Taylor had an unpleasant start to their honeymoon in Panama. On the second day of their vacation, Taylor jokingly recorded Brandon while he was sleeping (and snoring). When Brandon woke up to a camera, he claimed to have had a panic attack and spent the day giving his new wife the silent treatment.

Although Taylor and Brandon made up by the end of the episode (at least temporarily), viewers weren’t impressed with his behavior.

“Bruh.. I can’t do Brandon.. he’s a whole Deceptikon!” one MAFS viewer wrote on Twitter. “Can one of his boyfriends call him out already! He lost me with that diva silent treatment… but I’m glad for my girl to stick up for herself and demand respect!”

Other Married at First Sight fans thought Brandon’s behavior was downright rude and bizarre. “If I was Taylor and Brandon woke up acting like that, I would go home,” one Twitter user declared.

Another agreed, writing, “Brandon was horrible to Taylor. I would’ve gone for annulment the next morning. It would’ve been one for the record books.”

Another critic thought Brandon needed to work on himself before he could ever hope to be in a healthy relationship. “Brandon is the visual model of the term ‘spoiled rotten,’” the fan wrote on Twitter. “He’ll be no good to any woman unless he changes.”

Still, a few fans thought Taylor wasn’t sympathetic enough about her new husband’s anxiety. “I am not liking the fact that Taylor didn’t care about Brandon’s panic attack,” one Twitter user argued. “She demands respect but she does not know how to give it back!”

Some ‘MAFS’ fans thought Michael was immature

Meanwhile, Michael and Meka had their own honeymoon problems. They spent most of their first days together sleeping in separate hotel rooms, as Meka claimed that Michael gave her an ultimatum.

The MAFS bride said Michael told her he wouldn’t be into her or be able to continue with the marriage if she didn’t have sex with him during their honeymoon. She was also offended that he stopped wearing his wedding ring.

Many Married at First Sight viewers were baffled by Michael’s behavior — especially the ultimatum and the differences between his behavior when the cameras were rolling and when they weren’t.

“This Michael dude is pure unadulterated trash,” one Twitter user wrote. “F*ck boi on so many levels. He already stopped wearing his wedding ring and they’ve only been married 3 days.”

Another fan wrote that Michael wasn’t ready to be married at all. “I’m so done with Michael,” the MAFS viewer exclaimed. “He has a horrible attitude and I don’t think him and Meka are a good match. He doesn’t need to be married to anyone.”

However, not everyone was on Meka’s side. Some thought Meka was “extra” and “domineering” and that she expected too much, too soon.

“Do these women realize they’ve only been married for three days?” one MAFS fan argued. “Meka commenting on how Michael hasn’t worn his ring in a long time. Girl, you married him three days ago and didn’t see him at all for an entire day!”

Both men have reportedly ended their marriages since appearing on ‘Married at First Sight’

It looks like viewers weren’t wrong when they predicted the end of Brandon’s and Michael’s marriages.

According to Soap Dirt, Michael and Meka filed for an annulment in the state of Maryland on Jan. 21, 2020, with the option for limited divorce if the complaint isn’t honored.

On Jan. 2, Brandon filed for an annulment from Taylor. The hasty annulments are a Married at First Sight first, as usually viewers don’t find out what happened between the couples until after a season ends.
