‘Married at First Sight’: More Signs That Madison and Allen’s Marriage Fails
Our high hopes for Madison and Allen’s marriage might have been misplaced. When we first met the Married at First Sight Season 18 couple, it seemed that a shared desire for family and stability, similar professional aspirations, and complementary personalities could make them the rare MAFS success story. A drama-free honeymoon also seemed like a good sign for the pair.
But now that Madison and Allen are back in Chicago and settling into married life, cracks are starting to appear in their relationship. An argument at the end of the Dec. 10 episode of the Lifetime reality series might be a sign their marriage is doomed.

Madison makes an effort for Allen in ‘Married at First Sight’ Season 18
While Madison and Allen’s honeymoon in Mexico went relatively smoothly, they’ve experienced some challenges since returning home to the Windy City. On their first night in their new apartment, Madison went out with friends, leaving her new husband home alone. She’s also expressed that she’d like him to step up his fashion game and work out more. Allen has been receptive to her criticism but hasn’t responded by asking Madison to make changes for him.
In the latest episode of Married at First Sight, Madison challenged Allen with a tough workout. Afterward, he said he wanted to spend more “quality time” with his wife, even if that just meant watching an episode of a TV show together before bed. Madison said she’d make an effort, but it’s beginning to look like her go-go type A personality might not be a good fit with Allen’s more relaxed approach to life.
Still, Madison put in some effort for Allen. She organized a surprise 36th birthday party for him (which also doubled as the couple’s housewarming party). He seemed genuinely touched by the gesture. But as she chatted with his friends at the party, she wondered if she and her husband “had a compatible core.” She also said she wanted to hear more feedback from Allen about whether she was meeting his needs.
Allen bails on Madison’s flag football outing
Unfortunately, Madison’s surprise party for Allen may have done more harm than good to their relationship. After overindulging at his birthday celebration, he wasn’t feeling up to the group flag football game Madison had organized the next day. He refused to go, much to her annoyance. She bluntly told her fellow cast mates that her husband was “being a hungover *ss” and she was “upset” with him. Later, she told the other wives that it was “not sexy” to see her husband get drunk and that she was “pissed” at him.
Allen wasn’t the only cast member who was unenthusiastic about the football game. Michelle said she’d rather have stayed home too. But Michelle’s husband David was having the time of his life.
“David has made it clear from the beginning that he’s a sports guy,” Michelle said.
But could David’s enthusiasm for the football game be about more than just his love of sports? During an earlier conversation with Michelle, he casually mentioned that he’d been working out with Madison. It’s beginning to look like Madison might have found what she wants in a man in another woman’s husband. MAFS producers have teased a cheating scandal this season, and it’s looking like Madison and David could be the people who step out on their partners. And if Madison does stray after just a few weeks with Allen, it will likely doom their fragile marriage and perhaps lead to an early Decision Day for the couple.
Married at First Sight Season 18 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
