Is ‘Married at First Sight’ New Tonight, Dec. 24?
What’s next for the Married at First Sight Season 18 cast? The five Chicago couples are roughly halfway through their eight-week marriages, and while some pairs are starting to build a solid connection, others are on seriously shaky ground.
In the Dec. 17 episode of the Lifetime reality series, Camille and Thomas took their relationship to the next level, Madison and Allen tried to move forward after an argument, and Emen and Ikechi had a tense chat with Dr. Pia. Juan and Karla struggled with her desire for more intimacy and affection, and Michelle and David tried to find a way to kickstart their stalled marriage.
A teaser for the show’s next episode hinted at a major blow-up between Emen and Ikechi and highlighted Juan’s shocked reaction when Karla makes a big life decision without consulting him first. Drama is clearly on the horizon, but fans will have to wait to see how it all plays out. Married at First Sight is currently on break until early January 2025.
‘Married at First Sight’ Season 18 is on break until January
With Christmas and New Year’s fast approaching, Lifetime is taking a break from airing new episodes of Married at First Sight on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. New episodes return on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. ET.
Instead of MAFS, Lifetime will air Christmas movies on Dec. 24, including BeBe Winan’s We Three Kings, Kirk Franklin’s The Night Before Christmas, and The 12 Days of Christmas Eve. Episodes of The Rookie air on Dec. 31.
What to expect in the next episode of ‘MAFS’
Viewers should ready themselves for some fireworks when MAFS returns in 2025. Despite telling Dr. Pia that they would try to start over at square one, the tension between Emen and Ikechi is only getting worse. In a teaser for the next episode, he snaps at her while they work on a couple’s bonding exercise. Later, they get into a heated exchange during a group dinner with the other couples. Emen accused Ikechi of not replying to her texts and calls for the past two days, which he denies. Then, she storms out of the restaurant.
“Clown,” she says. “Bring me a clown and you’re going to get a circus.”
Meanwhile, Michelle is struggling to feel comfortable in her marriage to David, whom she fears will hold her back from achieving her goals.
“I don’t feel great about this,” she says. “I’m not, like, able to move forward.”
David’s been patient with Michelle so far in the hopes that she’d come around and give their relationship a chance, but he seems to be at the end of his rope.
“It’s tough to hear that,” he replies.
Things are also rocky for Karla and Juan, who have been struggling because he’s not feeling physical chemistry his wife. But in the next episode, it’s Karla’s approach to her career that’s the issue. She blindsides her husband with the news that she’s left her job. He’s not impressed.
“You can be crazy,” he says. “But you shouldn’t be stupid.”
Married at First Sight airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
