We’ve seen just one episode of the new season of Married at First Sight, but fans already have a bad feeling about one couple. Olivia and Brett are headed for disaster, they think, with concerned viewers fearing he’s just like Zach from last season, who never connected with his bride Mindy. Zach refused to move in with his wife after their honeymoon and was even caught flirting with one of her friends.

Brett is a serial dater

On Married at First Sight Season 11, the experts match 30-year-old nurse Olivia with 35-year-old Brett, an IT professional. He’s a self-confessed serial dater, which was a huge red flag for some people watching the show. Even his family seems shocked when he reveals he’s decided to participate in the experiment.

Brett says he’s dated 45 women since calling off an engagement after his bride-to-be cheated on him. Still, he insists he’s ready to settle down and find someone he can “spend the rest of my life with.”

Yet as the episode progressed, Brett’s commitment to the process seemed shaky at best. During the bachelor party, he admitted that his marriage would be in trouble if he didn’t feel an instant physical attraction to his wife. But he wasn’t worried about measuring up.

“She’d be crazy if she’s not attracted to me,” the confident groom said.

Viewers say Brett is another Zach

Brett’s dating history and cocky attitude didn’t sit well with MAFS fans, who took to social media to share their concerns.

“I hope Olivia doesn’t have the same experience Mindy did! She seems very sweet! Brett is showing Zach tendencies,” one commented on Instagram.

Another person said Brett was “making me cringe.” Several people agreed, with one speculating that he was “not done playing the field.”

One critic wasn’t surprised Brett had dated so many people. “One date with him is all anyone would need or want,” they wrote.

Viewers weren’t the only ones alarmed by Brett’s comments. Olivia watched the premiere episode and shared her thoughts with Us Weekly. She couldn’t help but notice his family’s lukewarm reaction to the news he was getting married.

“They all seemed shocked that he would even consider getting married given his dating history. Brett and his statistics …,” she said.

As she watched Brett shop for his wedding tux, she expressed more concern. Olivia felt that it wasn’t “cool” to hear him talk about his dating history and worried he wasn’t “ready to settle down.”

Things got even worse as she watched the bachelor party segment. Brett put the moves on Kristin, one of the other groom’s friends, though she made it clear she wasn’t interested. Olivia said she felt bad for the other woman and made it clear she was not comfortable with Brett’s behavior.

“Some of the things Brett says are so shocking to me. He sounds like a playboy,” she said.

“Brett doesn’t appear to be into the experiment based on the bachelor party,” she added.

Will Brett and Olivia’s make it down the aisle? Find out during the next episode of Married at First Sight, airing July 22 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
