Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg Throw an Epic Halloween Party That Has Both Tricks and Plenty of Treats (Exclusive)
Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg are throwing an epic Halloween party, one for the history books, with a horror-ific Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory-type vibe.
For the first time ever, Snoop & Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween baker contestants will create a Halloween party room to scale using sugar, spice, and devilish ingenuity. Then, Snoop, Martha, and Halloween revelers will party like it’s 2021 inside the real-life confectionary wonderland. The show promises both tricks and treats – and everything at the party is edible.
Martha Stewart and Snoop were in for a real treat
Snoop & Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween features three teams of talented bakers – called “Scare Squads” for the show. They are charged with building the edible 12×12 Halloween worlds. Then Tasty food content creator Alvin Zhou joins Snoop and Martha to judge the delicious worlds – and also help everyone party down too.
“Each team has to create their own theme based on fear,” Magical Elves’ Co-CEO Jo Sharon described to Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “And that’s an edible experience that you can walk through and grab things and eat things. Everything is sort of edible inside this experience, so they have a lot of fun sort of coming up with what their idea was. What the theme was going to be. All three were very unique and different, but ultimately our judges Snoop, Martha, and Alvin, as well as the partygoers walk through these experiences and get to taste and eat things as they do so.”
She added that the bakers are real pros who have worked together in the past, and have won other baking competitions. The teams also had 72 hours to plan leading up to the competition. And then they had six hours to execute their creations.
Who played the Halloween ‘trick’ of the show?
One of the big surprises (or tricks) from the show is that contestants were surprised when Snoop and Martha appeared in front of them. “They actually didn’t know [that Snoop and Martha were the judges) until they arrived at the Tasty Manor,” Magical Elves’ Co-CEO Casey Kriley revealed. “They started guessing who the party hosts were, and their reactions were through the roof.”
“And they definitely felt the additional pressure in the discovery,” she added.
The shock and surprise are evident in the trailer when Snoop and Martha arrive on set. When Snoop says, “Welcome to our Tasty Manor” a contestant is seen gasping. The remainder of the contestants are giddy and laughing uncontrollably. But then a warning from Martha: “Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Are you up to it?”
‘Snoop & Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween’ producers were treated to Snoop and Martha’s warm friendship
Sharon said the chemistry amongst the judges was hauntingly amazing. “I honestly, I feel like the Martha and Snoop’s relationship and their chemistry with Alvin, who is the Buzzfeed Tasty expert that joined them, was such a shining light during the day of shooting. Obviously, it was an insane day, with what’s going on right there. Snoop and Martha’s friendship and chemistry was so awesome to see in person and real and true, and also just the evolution of it.”
“You know, based on what we’ve seen in shows passed, it’s just clear that they are true friends that talk all the time and really care about each other,” she continued. “And then Alvin sort of fit into that so perfectly. So for me, it was kind of watching the three of them both on camera and off camera and seeing their chemistry and their true sort of affection for each other. Of course, what comes with that is lots of inside jokes and just their playful demeanor with each other. But I really, really enjoyed that as part of the day, both that we captured on screen and just kind of watching from the sidelines.”
Snoop & Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween streams on Peacock Oct. 21.
