Martha Stewart Responds to Chelsea Handler’s Copycat Selfie With a Polite F-Bomb
Martha Stewart is many things. She’s a businesswoman, chef, author, mom, and cannabis advocate. Because of the nature of her work, she is sometimes a model too. However, it’s almost rare for Stewart’s fans to see her selfie-taking side or anything that resembles a “thirst trap.”
One of her recent posts went viral, inspired some hilarious imitators, and warranted an in-kind response from the lifestyle maven. It’s Martha Stewart like you’ve never seen her.
Martha Stewart posts pool selfie with duck face pose
All summer, Stewart’s been sharing pictures on Instagram from her home in the Hamptons.
She gardens, rides horseback, cooks, and makes cocktails. But on July 21, she shared a selfie taken at her pool and posed with a quintessential pout known as the duck face. It did not go unnoticed.
Her caption didn’t mention anything about her look; she made it all about her pool. “My pool in East Hampton is the place to be on a 89 degree day! When I built the pool thirty years ago it was designed to be as chlorine free as possible, with a natural concrete finish-no paint- and it fit in a long narrow space between the house and the property line,” she wrote.
Fans went crazy with compliments in her comments section. “Oh Martha serving lookssss!!!!!!! OMG,” wrote one.
“Martha with the thirst trap Tuesday,” added another. And someone else told her, “You have some nerve lookin’ this HOT at 78 years young 🔥🔥🔥 now lemme get that skin care routine!”
Chelsea Handler recreates photo as an ode
Of course, Stewart went viral and quickly inspired folks around the web, including comedian Chelsea Handler.
Struck by Stewart’s beauty secrets and not her pool’s construction, Handler hit Instagram the next day with her own version of the pose, a sure case of imitation being the highest form of flattery.
Handler complimented Stewart: “If I look this good at 78 I better still have a pool to show myself off in.”
Martha Stewart responded to Chelsea Handler with a sweet message
Stewart established herself as a lady of good taste and good manners, and she returned the compliment back to Handler with a dose of sugar and spice.
But Stewart sprinkled in some wit too and made everyone giggle with her expert use of the f-word. Directly underneath Handler’s caption, she wrote:
Dear Chelsea I’m so happy that you liked my post well enough to emulate it. I do think my pool is a little bit prettier than yours and that my facial expression is a little bit more relaxed. Nevertheless you are a beautiful girl and F*CKING too young to be emulating me. Continue with your comedy, your humor, and your amazing ability to gather around you political liberals. We need it! Love Martha.”
And there you have it. Sassy, polite, and dare we say uplifting, Stewart gave Handler props for trying. Summer isn’t over yet, so it’s possible fans will see more of these posts from the domestic diva this season.
