Marvel: Who Are the BTS Members’ Favorite Avengers?
They may not be Superman, Batman, or Anpanman. Still, these K-pop idols are superheroes to their fans. During one interview, the BTS members shared who their favorite Marvel Avengers are and their choices aren’t surprising. Here’s what we know about the BTS performers and their favorite superheroes of the MCU and Avengers: Endgame.
The BTS members do their favorite superhero poses during the ‘Idol’ choreography
These boys may be busy rehearsing, performing, and recording, but they still have time to watch some of their favorite movies. That, of course, includes Marvel blockbusters like Avengers: Endgame, although the BTS members have been fans of the MCU for a few years now.
During the choreography for “Idol,” the group takes advantage of the superhero lyrics, posing as a few of their favorite Marvel characters. Jimin showed off his “spidey-senses.” RM posed with a shield, as Captain America. V posed with his palm facing out, just like Iron Man does in a number of the Avengers films.
The BTS members shared who their favorite Marvel characters were following the premiere of ‘Avengers: Endgame’
A group of extraordinary beings teaming up to bring happiness to the world? More likely than you think. Back in 2019, however, the members of this K-pop group confirmed some of their favorite Marvel heroes during a video for AMP 97.1 Radio. This was right after the premiere of Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, and the boys were still talking about it during the interview.
When they were asked who their favorites were, the boys shared that it was a hard question. RM was quick to answer that Iron Man was his favorite Marvel character, which we totally see the similarities. While Tony Stark/Iron Man is pretty much a genius with a soft side, and the leader of the Avengers, Kim Namjoon is an actual genius, who reportedly has an IQ of 148. He’s also the leader of BTS.
J-Hope shared that he loves Thor, doing her version of smashing the hammer on the ground. V said Dr. Strange and RM agreed that was one of his favorites, too. Suga had a hard time picking but then said Iron Man, followed by Jin, who did his best impersonation of Spider-Man.
Just as Jungkook was about to say his favorite, RM started talking about Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds, who recently followed them on Twitter. After confirming who the villain was, Jungkook said that his pick was one of the main characters of Infinity War and Endgame, Thanos. After that, he laughed and took it back, saying his favorite Avenger was Iron Man, as well.
BTS has their own song about a superhero, ‘Anpanman’
They may not have a bat cave and they may not be able to fly, but these K-pop idols are still superheroes to their fans. A few years ago, the boy band even released a song about a new kind of superhero, Anpanman. (He’s not an official Avenger, but he’s still pretty “super,” nonetheless.)
According to one fan translation and interpretation, “Anpanman is about a Japanese cartoon character, Anpanman. BTS is basically saying they’ll try to protect people even though they’re not Anpanman.”
