Matt from I Love a Mama’s Boy has found love. The TLC star – whose close relationship with his mom, Kelly, is highlighted in the reality show – confirmed that he is in a relationship. But don’t expect to see his special lady in the series. He’s keeping his romance private, he says.

Matt and Kelly have appeared on I Love a Mama’s Boy since it premiered in 2020. Over the years, Matt has struggled to find a woman who is willing to put up with his mom, who has no scruples when it comes to meddling in her son’s love life. 

In season 1, Matt was in a relationship with a woman named Kimberley, to whom he eventually got engaged. But by the end of season 2, they’d broken up. He dated a few women in season 3, but those relationships didn’t last. 

In season 4, which premiered Sept. 16, Matt is single. But Kelly is still hoping he’ll find the one. And when he does meet someone, she promises to be more hands-off than in the past. 

“I’m determined to approach Matt’s love life differently,” she said in the season premiere. “From now on, it’s going to be the kinder, gentler, more forgiving Kelly.”

Now, it seems like Kelly is one step closer to seeing her son settled down with a nice girl. Matt has confirmed that he is dating someone. He and the mystery woman recently went on an Alaskan cruise with his parents, which he posted about on Instagram. 

“Alaska bound with the McAdams Family,” he captioned the update, which featured a photo of himself and a smiling brunette standing on a ship’s balcony.

His followers were thrilled to see him looking so happy and coupled up. 

“I’m so glad you found the right one that fits your family,” one person wrote.

“Thank you!! Yes she’s amazing can’t wait till we get married!” he replied, hinting that he might be engaged. 

While Matt is happy in his new relationship, he said he won’t be talking about it on I Love a Mama’s Boy. 

“She will not be [on the show],” he commented on another post. “She and I didn’t want her to have to go through the crap that comes with this. I hope people and my ex’s respect us as we do not bash people in this new season. We’ll see lol.”

In another comment, Matt suggested that I Love a Mama’s Boy Season 4 would be the final one for him and Kelly, telling a fan that they were “coming back for a last season.” But he’s not ruling out future TV appearances. When a follower said they’d like to see him and Kelly in a spinoff, he agreed that it sounded like a great idea. 

“Yes I think spinoff is next step,” he wrote.

I Love a Mama’s Boy airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
