‘Mayans MC’ Season 4 Episode 9 Recap, ‘The Calling of Saint Matthew’
Mayans MC Season 4 is slowly approaching the end. Things picked up in episode 9 with a shocking reveal about an important character. Meanwhile, Miguel Galindo returns with a business offer, Bishop gets a second chance with a love interest, and Adelita and Angel choose a name for their baby.

Miguel Galindo returns with a business proposition
At the beginning of Mayans MC Season 4 Episode 9, Miguel Galindo is back in the neighborhood. Alvarez spots Galindo in a car outside his house and pulls a gun on him, but Galindo assures Alvarez that he wasn’t there to kill him. Meanwhile, EZ wakes up in bed with his love interest Sofia. EZ is startled to his feet when JJ arrives. He threatens EZ with the knowledge that EZ has been working with the feds. However, it turns out that all JJ wants is to work with the Club to make some extra money.
EZ and Alvarez meet with Galindo and El Banquero’s sister Soledad. The latter proposes a new arrangement designed to decrease violence and increase profit. Galindo will serve as Soledad’s liaison north of the border. Alvarez states that he needs to think the proposition over. When he asks what El Banquero thinks of the arrangement, Soledad responds, “My brother will be handled.”
Later, Alvarez holds a meeting with Santo Padre where he tells them of Galindo’s return and the proposition. However, he also states that he plans not to take the deal. EZ and many other Club members are dismayed by this. Before the meeting is over, Taza announces that he plans to leave Santo Padre and go nomad. Alvarez grants the request.
Adelita and Angel choose a name for their son in ‘Mayans MC’ Season 4 Episode 9
Throughout Mayans MC Season 4 Episode 9 Angel is spending some time with Adelita and their son. He realizes that they need a name for the boy but the pair don’t end up reaching a consensus. Asleep in his car, Gilly is awoken by Rae who is still staying at his house. She informs him that her son had an accident and he teaches him to make the bed “military style.”
Back at Angel’s house, Adelita turns the corner to see Lincoln Potter holding her baby. Previously, Adelita killed Anna Linares and her husband while retrieving her baby, who the couple had adopted. Potter explains that the cops believe the deaths to be a murder-suicide. Still, he vaguely threatens that the case could be reopened. Adelita insists that she won’t do whatever Potter wants her to do. He disagrees and leaves the house.
Meanwhile, Nails meets up with Angel at his request. Surprisingly, he gives a genuine apology for what Nails went through and for not being there for her. Angel calls himself a piece of s*** and Nails lightens up slightly. She tells Angel that one day the rest of him will catch up to his beautiful heart. “It just makes me sad that I won’t be there to see it,” Nails adds. Angel and Nails state that they will both try to be all right. Later, Adelita agrees to name the baby Maverick.
Bishop goes on a date with Maggie and Emily decides to run
At the laundry mat, Bishop runs into Maggie, who he was a complete jerk to at Alvarez’s dinner party earlier in Mayans MC Season 4. Bishop tries to leave but Maggie catches him. She apologizes for bringing up her grandchildren at the party, not knowing that Bishop lost a child. However, she adds that Bishop is “still an asshole.”
Bishop is oddly charmed and asks Maggie to get a drink with him later. Maggie however states that if he wants to see her tonight, it’ll have to be on her “playing field.” Later Bishop and Maggie are shown bowling together, and Bishop appears to be having a genuinely good time.
Emily has decided that it’s time for her to run for it. She instructs her sister Erin to leave first with her son and she will follow in a few days when she knows she isn’t being tailed. Unfortunately, a clip shows a scary-looking man entering a room where Erin pleads and a gunshot goes off.
‘Mayans MC’ Season 4 Episode 9 reveals a shocking truth about Creeper’s girlfriend
It turns out things are not as they seem with Creeper’s new girlfriend, Kody. Mayans MC Season 4 Episode 9 reveals that she is actually an undercover cop named Kate. Her boss shows up unannounced and pressures her to get more permanent information. There are cameras in Kate’s house and now one will be installed in her bedroom.
At the end of the episode, Kody and Creeper lay in bed and chat. Suddenly Kody grabs Creeper and pulls him into the bathroom. She turns on the water so that the recording devices won’t pick up her words and seemingly tells Creeper the truth about her undercover work.
New episodes of Mayans MC Season 4 air Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
