‘Mayans MC’ Season 4 Finale: EZ Has ‘Loose Ends’ to Tie Up While the Club Seeks Peace With the Sons of Anarchy
Mayans MC is closing in on the season 4 finale after an emotional and unpredictable penultimate episode. The Mayans of San Pedro aren’t the same now that Coco (Richard Cabral) is dead and Taza (Raoul Trujillo) has walked away from the club. In the finale, EZ (JD Pardo) has “loose ends” to tie up while the club seeks peace with the Sons of Anarchy.
The ‘Mayans MC’ Season 4 penultimate episode featured emotional moments and a big reveal
Season 4, Episode 9 of Mayans MC titled “The Calling of Saint Matthew,” was jam-packed with emotional moments plus a big reveal of betrayal that doesn’t bode well for the club. It started off with Taza’s decision to go nomad, then closed with Emily’s (Sarah Bolger) sister Erin (Holland Roden) supposedly killed off-screen.
In between those moments, a betrayal was revealed when Creeper’s (Joseph Lucero) girlfriend Kody (Stella Maeve) is seen meeting with a police officer who calls her by a different name. It turns out she’s an undercover cop with a mistake-filled history.
The officer pushes Kody to get more info about Creeper and the club — specifically their ongoing war with the Sons of Anarchy. But Kody decides to let Creeper in on what’s really going on and tell him her true identity and making it clear that what’s coming next isn’t going to be good.
EZ has ‘loose ends’ to tie up as the club seeks peace
Emily’s season 4 plot line has been a slow burn, while she’s been a bit reckless and off-track. After Erin’s brutal death, the assumption is she is going to need help from EZ. But he is probably not interested in helping because he’s busy at war with the Sons of Anarchy — with a smaller crew after Taza’s exit. As the season 4 finale description indicates, EZ has a lot going on.
“EZ ties up loose ends as the future of the club hangs in the balance; Alvarez seeks peace with a Redwood Original,” the description for the episode titled “When the Breakdown Hit at Midnight” reads.
But one episode doesn’t feel like enough time to tie together all of the “loose ends” lurking over EZ and the club. Does that mean the show will get a season 5?

In addition to the club and their community, there are some long-simmering issues surrounding EZ and his family that need to be addressed. And it looks like the problems between father and son — EZ and Felipe (Edward James Olmos) — are about to reach full boil. But will they be able to address all of that in the season 4 finale?
FX has not yet renewed Mayans MC for season 5. But fans are definitely ready to see EZ’s story continue and witness him turn into “another Jax Teller.”
“EZ has fully engraved himself as the soulless character with the devil in his body,” one fan wrote in the comments section of the Mayans MC Season 4 finale promo. “If he can kill Gabby, throw shade on his father, and threaten Angel, then he is another Jax Teller with a destructive rampage and violent tendencies.”
The season 4 finale of Mayans MC airs Tuesday, June 15 on FX.
