MCU Star Tom Holland Says, ‘No One Gives Me Notes Like My Mom Does’
Today, Tom Holland is best known for playing Peter Parker / Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He debuted in the MCU back in Captain America: Civil War, and he has since gone on to appear in multiple mash-ups and star in two standalone installments.
Though the Spider-Man actor continues to flex his performance muscles, one relative still has detailed notes for him when it comes down to his scene choices. According to Tom Holland, his mom tells him like it is.
‘Spider-Man’ actor Tom Holland talks about his mom’s ‘notes’
While on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Tom Holland and Colbert discussed the young actor’s relationship with his mother. Tom Holland told the host, “No one gives me notes like my mom does,” going on to explain that she will provide feedback while he’s on the set (if she happens to be present). She will ask her son, “Really, you’re going to do it like that?”
While Tom Holland may have to impress his mom before satisfying a director, he goes on to explain that this doesn’t, in any way, harm their strong relationship. He says he owes a great deal of his success to his loving mother.
Tom Holland ‘owes everything’ to his mom
Holland goes on to explain that his mom has always been and continues to be his greatest supporter as an actor. Holland told Cobert:
I owe everything to my lovely mom. You know, She did everything for me growing up when I was going for auditions. And she was like, “you know, you gotta stretch if you want to be in Billy Elliot,”
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
Though Holland didn’t physically stretch his body enough while going out for Billy Elliot — a highly-intensive dance role — he managed to land the gig anyway. Yet, this doesn’t make his mom’s advice any less sound.
Tom Holland tells Colbert that his mom is an “amazing lady,” and Holland and Colbert go on to say hello to Holland’s mother, who would likely go on to watch the episode at a later time. She may just blush a little Holland explains.
Though Tom Holland has a harsh critic to satisfy when it comes to his mother’s scene direction, it is because of her that the young actor is where he is today. Now, he will go on to appear in Uncharted, Chaos Walking, Cherry, The Devil All the Time, and more — all within the next few years. Talk about a successful booming career!
