Meagan Good Wows in Red While Promoting New Tyler Perry Movie in Los Angeles
Meagan Good donned an eye-catching red dress for an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday to promote her new Tyler Perry movie. The actor smiled and waved to photographers as she headed into the late-night show’s studios in Los Angeles.
Good stars alongside Cory Hardrict in Divorce in the Black, which is now streaming on Prime Video. She plays Ava, a preacher’s daughter who is desperate to save her marriage to Dallas (Hardrict), who has abandoned their relationship. As Dallas’ true, sinister nature is revealed, Ava finds solace in the arms of her longtime friend, Benji (Joseph Lee Anderson).
Good was beaming in a fire-engine red strapless minidress from House of CB as she paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live! on July 15.
Good was also spotted at the studio wearing the same dress in black and white. The flirty date-night look is available from House of CB for $255.
On the show, Good chatted with guest host Anthony Anderson about her new movie. “It’s really a story that’s about [Ava’s] journey of exploring and discovering and rediscovering herself,” she explained (via YouTube). “And then it’s got a lot of twists, lot of turns.”
While Divorce in the Black has some dark moments, the vibe on set was totally positive, Good said. “You know, it was fun to drag Cory down the staircase,” she joked of working with Hardrict, whom she’s known for two decades. “It was fun to throw Cory in the car and slap him.”
Hardrict’s bad-guy character in the movie couldn’t be more different from his real personality, Good added. “Cory’s such a sweetheart … he really created the space for me to feel comfortable, for me to feel safe, to explore the character,” she said.
Good isn’t just navigating romantic drama on the small-screen. Her relationship with controversial star Jonathan Majors has raised some eyebrows. In December 2023, Majors was found guilty of assaulting his former girlfriend. Soon after, he was dropped from his high-profile role as the villain Kang the Conquerer in an upcoming Marvel movie.
In a recent interview with The Washington Post, Good said the concern about her personal life is misplaced.
“I’m not a 20-year-old girl. I’ve lived quite a few lifetimes already,” she said. “I appreciate concern when it’s genuine. But I’m also like. ‘I got a mama. I got a big sister. I’ve got very, very close friends of family who do not f*ck around when it comes to me. I’m good.’”
“I know that Jonathan makes me very happy,” she added. “And I love him very much and I feel very, very loved by him. And I’m grateful for even the horrible things that we’ve experienced. I don’t wish that for him. But, for us, I think that it’s produced something different and special and that I’m thankful for.”
