Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly May Have Grown Close Because of Pandemic Production Shutdowns
Megan Fox and Colson Baker (aka Machine Gun Kelly) are one of the hottest celebrity couples in Hollywood, and they are not afraid to let the world know they are in love. Their very public display of affection keeps them in the lens of the paparazzi. The trendy couple recently hit the VMA red carpet dressed in hard-to-miss head-turning outfits. Head-over-heels in love, the couple have become inseparable, claiming to be destined “twin flames.”
The Transformers star met the musician on the set of a movie they were filming together. They reportedly grew close when the production shut down because of pandemic protocols.
‘Midnight in the Switchgrass’
In March 2020, the duo was in Puerto Rico together, working on the independent thriller, Midnight In The Switchgrass. Only two weeks into production, filming halted due to concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
E! News reported the couple had “been hanging out a lot since their movie was shut down,” saying, “The downtime has been good for them… They are intrigued by each other and having a lot of fun.”
The crime thriller that also stars Bruce Willis and Emile Hirsch follows the graphic tale of a serial killer being pursued by Florida law enforcement officers. Megan Fox portrays Rebecca Lombardi, an undercover FBI agent kidnapped while trying to solve the string of related murders.
Discussing the movie, the website Roger Ebert said, “Fox is seen beating up and getting answers from a pimp played by her real-life off-screen partner Colson Baker.” Describing the scenes as “cartoonish,” the film critic said it was evident the couple shared a “madcap energy.”
Production resumed in June 2020, and by then, the steamy couple was in a hot and heavy relationship with plenty of mirror selfies to confirm their status.
How the celebrity couple spent their time together during the pandemic
While quarantining together, Megan Fox starred in a music video for the rapper’s newly released single, “Bloody Valentine.” Then, in June 2020, US Weekly confirmed their relationship, saying the pair was “enjoying spending more and more time together and have a strong connection.” By July of the same year, the celebrity duo was Instagram official.
Elle reported that the Jennifer’s Body star felt she shared an “astrological connection” with Kelly only two days after meeting him on the movie set. The 34-year-old actor said in a joint interview with her new boyfriend, “I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame,” explaining they were “actually two halves of the same soul.”
For the remainder of the year, paparazzi followed the happy couple as they flaunted their relationship in airports, restaurants, nightclubs, and even the rooftop of The Roxy.
Cosmopolitan reported in October 2020 that “Machine Gun Kelly has met her kids and is becoming a part of their lives. She wanted to make sure it was going in a serious direction, and they both feel very strongly that it is.” Fox is the mother of three young sons that she shares with her ex-husband Brian Austin Green of 90210 fame. Kelly, 30, has a daughter from a previous relationship.
What Machine Gun Kelly said about his movie with Megan Fox
The award-winning musician will undoubtedly hold a special place in his heart for the movie that brought him to Megan Fox. According to InStyle, “that’s probably where his love for the project ends.”
On the day the film was released, Kelly took to Twitter with a “cryptic message,” implying the movie that he and Fox worked on together was trash.
According to Cosmopolitan, Hirsch responded to the Tweet, writing, “We definitely disagree here, Colson! Nothing but respect to you guys though – especially because you and Megan are so f#*king great in this movie.”
The couple never attended the premiere, and later, Fox told USA Today it was fate that brought them together, not the film. She said, “It was just two people who were primed and supposed to be together. We were meant to meet each other.”
