Megan Fox’s inner circle was once allegedly concerned that her relationship with Machine Gun Kelly would do her more harm than good. There might’ve been some truth to the gossip since it was recently announced that she and the hip-hop artist recently broke up. The announcement came out not too long after Fox revealed that she was pregnant with their child. Insiders who claim to be close with Fox have provided some insight into how Fox is feeling about the issue.

TMZ reported that Fox and Kelly broke up on December, 10, 2024. But this isn’t the first time the couple went their separate ways. Earlier in the year, Fox addressed rumors that she and Kelly called off their engagement after Kelly proposed to her in 2022. Fox confirmed the news on the Call Her Daddy podcast, but she didn’t share too many other details about their breakup. Despite her relationship status at the time, Fox still considered MGK her soulmate.

“I think that what I’ve learned from being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption, so I think, as of now, I don’t have a comment on the status of the relationship, per se,” she said. “What I can say is, that is what I refer to as being my ‘twin soul,’ and there will always be a tether to him no matter what.”

It’s unclear if Fox still feels that way after their most recent split. Recent insiders suggest that the Transformers star might not be taking this break up as well as she did their last.

“She’s been distraught,” they said in an interview with People.

Although their future together may look bleak right now, sources asserted there was still a chance for the two to reunite.

“They love each other but don’t have compatible personalities. They’re both hot-heads, dramatic and stubborn. When they’re good together, they’re great,” the source said. “They will very likely get back together. They’ve split in the past and then worked things out.”

Fox and Kelly had an interesting take on their relationship when they both spoke to GQ back in 2021. The pair’s romance began after they met each other on the film set of Midnight in the Switchgrass. However, the two actually met a long time ago before then at a GQ party, although neither can recall the encounter. They didn’t even remember seeing each other’s faces.

“I don’t remember your face… And I definitely would have remembered his face,” Fox told Kelly. “I just remember this tall, blond, ghostly creature and I looked up and I was like, ‘You smell like weed.’ He looked down at me and he was like, ‘I am weed.’ Then, I swear to God, he disappeared like a ninja in a smoke bomb.”

Fox figured the two didn’t register each other’s presence because it just wasn’t time for them to be together.

“I think we weren’t allowed to see each other yet. We weren’t supposed to run into each other that night, so our souls, our spirit guides, were luring us away from each other, because you literally had no face, like that thing from Spirited Away. It is hard to see his face in general, but really he had no face that night,” she said. “Thank God, [because] what torture had I known you were there and I couldn’t get to you. It was better that I didn’t know.”

The two were head over heels for each other instantly when they finally did reconnect. But she didn’t think that her relationship was for the faint of heart.

“This is a very intense relationship,” Fox said. “Our souls chose this to absolutely have to face our shadow selves; to face things about ourselves we didn’t want to have to know, that we tried to push away. It should be light, but also we go to hell with each other.”

“It’s ecstasy and agony for sure,” Kelly added. ‘I don’t want people to think anything’s perfect with us. I didn’t say it was the darkest fairy tale for no reason.”
