The first-ever Winter Invictus Games have come and gone but something was different this year compared to past years and many people noticed. Unfortuatley, over the last few years the focus has not been on the amazing athletes and competitors, but instead has been on Meghan Markle‘s clothes. It’s been almost impossible to find a tabloid referencing the Games that didn’t talk about what the duchess wearing and by which designer. And that has been a good look for the Games and some have dubbed it the “Meghan Fashion Show.”

So this year they mixed things up a bit as Prince Harry’s wife wasn’t prancing around in dresses and other eye-catching outfits. While Meghan’s clothes at the 2025 Games were exactly the most affordable, there is something to be said for the simplicity of her wearing a sweather and jeans. There was also a notable shift in the amount of jewelry she wore compared to years past as she wore less than usual.

Now a PR expert is claiming that was all deliberate and done for one specific reason.

Expert explains what Meghan was conscious of not doing during the Games and why

The former Suits star left the event a few days early this year, ensuring that the focus couldn’t be on her the whole time. And while she was there, Meghan sported more toned-down looks for each event she attended.

Edward Coram James, CEO of Go Up, spoke to GB News about how that was done deliberately by the duchess so people could see her as “realtable.”

He explained: “The choice of Invictus Games as the primary focus seems deliberate. It’s a bulletproof cause. Notice what’s missing? Any luxury, any Hollywood glam, any over-curation. This is intentional. She wants people to see her as relatable, hardworking, and philanthropic.”

The luxury Meghan and Prince Harry enjoyed behind the scenes

Behind the scenes though Meghan and Harry were living it up in luxury, “rock star” luxury to be exact.

After landing in British Columbia via private jet, the couple was driven to the five-star Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel. Once they arrived, the duke and duchess were escorted the ultra-exclusive, Chairman’s Suite. The two-story suite is nicknamed the “Rock Star Suite.” Other celebrities who have stayed there previously include Tom Cruise and Ed Sheeran.

According to the Daily Mail, the “Rock Star Suite” offers the best views of both Coal Harbour and the North Shore Mountains. It features an open floor plan with over 2,250 square feet. The suite has two living rooms with a custom Swarovski crystal chandelier above the whole area, as well as a modern kitchen, a pantry, and a wet bar.

In addition, the hotel, which is rated as “the most luxurious in British Columbia,” has a heated outdoor pool with cabanas, a spa, meditation pods, and an infrared sauna.
