After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their roles within the royal family, the pair moved across the pond to begin their new lives. While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stated time and time again that they are glad to be out of the institution, many royal watchers have pointed out the same thing about the prince: He doesn’t look happy anymore.

Now, one of Harry’s pals claims that he is “angry” because he keeps looking back at the past and how people perceive him now compared to how they used to. And someone who knew Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, believes that really “frustrates” Meghan.

Prince Harry’s friend claims the duke is ‘angry’ now and misses his old life

There have been countless photos taken since the Sussexes stepped down of Harry looking unhappy, irritated, or downright miserable even while his wife stands by his side flashing a constant smile.

Well friend of the duke’s claims that’s because the prince spends so much of his time “thinking of the past and pining for the love and affection of the British public he had received before stepping back from royal duties in 2020.”

Harry’s pal told The Times: “He’s an angry boy. Things haven’t turned out how he wanted. I think he misses being [in Britain] desperately and wants to be admired more. Anyone who knows him feels he’d rather be top of the pops with everyone loving him, as they do with William and Kate.”

Royal correspondent says that ‘frustrates’ Meghan who sees it as a total ‘waste’

Jennie Bond is a former BBC royal correspondent who got to know Princess Diana very well over the years and became one of the late princess’s most trusted confidants. Bond would often meet with Diana at Kensington Palace to have what she called their “woman-to-woman chats” and of course would see the royal’s two sons while she was there.

Bond weighed in on what’s being said about Prince Harry not letting go of the past, telling OK!: “If Meghan is encouraging Harry to leave the past behind and move on, then I think it is a healthy move. They have made their decision, left the working royal family and left the U.K. … Brooding on the perceived injustices of the past and re-living old quarrels is a waste of a life, and I think Meghan sees that.”

Bond did acknowledge that it is easier for Meghan to look forward because she doesn’t have Harry’s life history in Britain.

“It’s easy for her to look forward … ensconced as she is in a country and lifestyle she is so used to and clearly loves,” Bond explained. “But Harry has said he wants to be reunited with his family … so he is obviously going to think about what has happened and how they have come to this state of affairs. And that’s probably quite frustrating for Meghan who seems to be at ease with estrangement from her own family.

“I don’t think Harry spends ‘all’ his time looking back … but the Harry I knew as a young boy was someone who enjoyed fooling around with his family and having fun with them.”
