Meghan Markle Gave Prince Harry a ‘Not So Pleasant Look’ at the NAACP Image Awards, Body Language Guru Says
In late February, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first award show appearance in the United States. The couple attended the NAACP Image Awards to accept a prestigious prize.
Whenever Harry and Meghan appear in public, body language experts like to analyze their interactions. A guru recently looked at their appearance at the NAACP Image Awards and noted that Meghan gave Harry a “not so pleasant look.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle accepted the President’s Award
Harry and Meghan were invited by the NAACP to accept the President’s Award. Previous winners of the award include Rihanna, Jay-Z, and LeBron James.
Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of the NAACP, said in a statement, “We’re thrilled to present this award to Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who together have heeded the call to social justice and have joined the struggle for equity both in the US and around the world.”
During their acceptance speech, Harry and Meghan focused on bringing the fight for social justice to the internet.
“This community knows what it means to speak up for what is right and to march forward is just,” Harry said, “As the fight for justice for justice still remains, it’s time to extend this march to the world online, a place where hate and discrimination are fueled instantly, propagated globally and felt deeply.”
Meghan added, “This is the era of the digital justice movement. We are proud to partner with NAACP and each of you to translate the vital efforts of those who came before us to the modern challenges that exist ahead of us.”
Meghan Markle gave Prince Harry a ‘not so pleasant look,’ according to a body language expert
According to body language expert Lillian Glass, Harry looked “uncomfortable” on stage, though Meghan seemed to be “in her element.”
“Harry looked like a fish out of water as he didn’t know what to do or how to comfort himself as he looked down at the award and examined it and then rocked back and forth and pulled away from Meghan,” Glass told Express.
Glass also believed Meghan tried to tell Harry what to do. The guru said, “He straightened up for a while when she quickly turned her head towards him and shot him a not so pleasant look indicating that he was on stage and to be aware of it and to shape up. He purses his lips in embarrassment and then cocks his head like a wounded puppy and then looks at the camera.”
Glass pointed out that Harry was “not smiling the whole time he is up there” and would “rock back and forth” out of discomfort.
“One would think that growing up in front of a camera and having spoken to countless groups he would know how to act when receiving an award on stage but it confirms that the body doesn’t lie and Harry is clearly not happy and uncomfortable as indicated through his body language at this event,” Glass said.
Meghan Markle has been accused of ‘controlling’ Prince Harry
Glass is not the only body language expert who has accused Meghan of controlling Harry with gestures.
For example, Jesús Enrique Rosas (who is also called The Body Language Guy on social media) has posted various clips of Meghan allegedly touching Harry’s back to signal to him to stop talking to other people.
“He already knows that when Meghan approaches him in a certain way and touches him in a certain way, he should behave in a certain way,” Rosas theorized in one YouTube video.
