Meghan Markle’s Leaked Email Suggests She Never Forgave the Palace For the Kate Middleton Crying Rumors

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton didn't grow nearly as close as people thought they would, though the two always remained on good terms. But it turns out Meghan did not forgive Kensington Palace for failing to set the record straight about the crying incident.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dropped a number of bombshells during their interview with Oprah Winfrey in early March. The former working royals sat down with the journalist to discuss what really went on behind closed doors, plus how it all eventually led to their exit from the family.

Now, a leaked Meghan Markle email suggests that, while she forgave Kate Middleton for her making her cry before her wedding, she did not forgive the Palace for failing to set the record straight.

Meghan Markle revealed to Oprah that Kate Middleton made her cry before her wedding

Meghan and Harry’s Oprah interview sent shockwaves through royal fans. The couple revealed details of some of the hardships they endured while working members of the royal family, and there were shocking revelations made. Specifically, the royals are still trying to pick up the pieces after Harry and Meghan revealed there were “conversations” about concerns surrounding Archie’s skin tone.

Meghan also set the record straight about the rumors she made Kate Middleton cry during the week of her wedding to Harry. Meghan explained that it was the other way around — Kate actually made her cry.

“A few days before the wedding, she was upset about something — yes, the issue was correct, about the flower girl dresses — and it made me cry and it really hurt my feelings,” Meghan explained. She also added that Kate had “apologized” about what happened, and the two had moved past it.

Meghan Markle’s leaked email suggests she did not forgive the Palace for failing to clear up the issue

Royal reporter Omid Scobie has always been on Meghan’s side — something somewhat unusual for the British press, who Meghan claimed purposely launched hurtful and racist attacks on her while she and Harry were dating and even after they were married.

According to Yahoo, Scobie recently released a leaked email Meghan had written to royal aides about the rumors over the crying situation — and it suggests that, even so long after it happened, she didn’t forgive Kensington Palace for failing to speak out.

Yahoo reported that Scobie’s source claimed that, after Harry and Meghan stepped down, the royal family wanted Harry to cosign a joint statement to clear up rumors that his brother, Prince William, ever “bullied” the couple.

Meghan decided to write a response to the royal aides, which in part read, “Well, if we’re just throwing any statement out there now, then perhaps KP can finally set the record straight about me [not making Kate cry.]”

Though it’s unclear exactly when the email was written, it must have been sent sometime after March 2020 — nearly two years after the initial incident occurred.

It’s unclear how a friendship will develop between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton

The royal family reacted to Meghan and Harry’s interview as a whole, specifically saying the claims of racism were “concerning.” However, William and Kate have not released an official statement themselves.

It’s unclear at this point if a friendship could still develop between Meghan and Kate. Meghan did make a point to say during the interview that Kate is “a good person” and refused to go into further detail about the incident for that reason. Harry noted that he and his brother have been taking some space from each other but that he’ll always have love for William.
