So far the summer of 2022 has been a busy one for Meghan and Harry. Already they’ve traveled to the UK for Platinum Jubilee weekend and celebrated the first birthday of their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. Additionally, they’ve attended, or participated in, multiple polo matches.
Since returning to their home in Montecito, California, after celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 years on the throne, they’ve remained largely out of the spotlight.
However, it seems that might change. Over the weekend of June 24-26, 2022, Daily Mail published photos of the couple, along with Meghan’s friend, actor Janina Gavankar, and security, going to Oprah’s Montecito home. “Is another royal tell-all in the works?” an accompanying headline read.
Images from the outlet show Harry, 37, driving a Range Rover wearing a baseball and sunglasses with Gavankar in the passenger seat and Meghan in the back. Meanwhile, another car with personal security trailed closely behind them.
Daily Mail reported “sources” said the three of them spent about an hour at Oprah’s sprawling home before making the five-minute drive back to Harry and Meghan’s.

Reactions to Harry and Meghan’s Oprah visit varied on Twitter. Some called out the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for potentially doing another interview.

Additionally, some wondered why Meghan and Harry didn’t walk or bike to Oprah’s considering they live nearby.

Oprah was among the celebrity guests at Harry and Meghan’s 2018 royal wedding. Per The Mercury News, author Tina Brown wrote in her book, The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor, the Truth and the Turmoil,” the couple wasn’t actually very close with her at the time.
A-listers, such as Oprah and George and Amal Clooney, “were a portrait not of Meghan’s intimate circle but of the friends she most wanted to recruit,” Brown said.

So, as the Daily Mail — and some Twitter users — suggested, Harry and Meghan’s Oprah visit might be a sign of another interview to come. Or, as others pointed out, it may have been purely a social visit.
