Are Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie Friends? They Kept in Touch During Their Pregnancies
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Princess Eugenie are already having an exciting 2021. The two royals are in baby bliss: Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, welcomed their first child—a son named August—on Feb. 9, and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, announced on Valentine’s Day that they’re expecting their second child.
There are a lot of parallels between Meghan and Eugenie’s lives as royals, but are they good friends, like Eugenie and Harry?
Has Eugenie moved out of Frogmore Cottage?
Eugenie and Jack welcomed their son on Feb. 9, and debuted his first photo and name on Feb. 20.
“We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank,” Eugenie wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can’t express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you. Thank you to the wonderful essential workers including our midwife who came to discharge our boy.”
Eugenie and Jack had been living in Frogmore Cottage (Harry and Meghan’s former residence) from November 2020 up until the holiday season, when they moved into Eugenie’s parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, home, the Royal Lodge. The pregnant princess and her husband quarantined there until she gave birth to August, and then they moved back into Frogmore.

Did Meghan Markle and Prince Harry congratulate Princess Eugenie after her baby news?
Meghan and Harry released their pregnancy announcement five days after August was born.
“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child,” a representative told Harper’s Bazaar.
Some critics of the couple argued the Sussex royals were trying to overshadow Eugenie and Jack’s baby announcement because they didn’t publicly congratulate them. But Newsweek confirmed that Harry and Meghan privately congratulated their cousin on the happy news.
In another connection to Eugenie and Jack, Meghan and Harry announced they were expecting their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, on Oct. 15, 2018, three days after Eugenie and Jack wed at Windsor Castle on Oct. 12. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.

Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie kept in touch during their pregnancies and are ‘very close’
While some fans of the royal family have argued that Harry and Meghan are constantly trying to overshadow Eugenie, the royal cousins are actually very close.
A source close to the couple revealed that Meghan and Eugenie were in contact during their simultaneous pregnancies and are “very close.”
“They would have known about each other’s due dates,” a reported family friend told People.
“These times tend to bring families together,” the source continued. “What is lovely is Eugenie having her baby as Harry and Meghan are having theirs. They are very close. And they are all deciding to go their own route.”
All’s well with the royal mamas.
