Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is benefiting from not being under the royal family’s thumb since she and Prince Harry made their exit, one body language expert believes. During a recent video call, Meghan displayed a more passionate speaking style than she ever could have with the “royal restrictions” she was previously under.

Prince Harry and Meghan participated in an important video call

The Sussexes recently took part in a video call with youth leaders about equal rights and justice. As the president and vice president of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, Prince Harry and Meghan included their voices in the conversation and the discussion had them sharing their perspective on these important topics.

“We can’t deny or ignore the fact that all of us have been educated to see the world differently,” Prince Harry said during the meeting. “However, once you start to realize that there is that bias there, then you need to acknowledge it, you need to do the work to become more aware… so that you can help stand up for something that is so wrong and should not be acceptable in our society today.”

“It’s not just in the big moments, it’s in the quiet moments where racism and unconscious bias lies and thrives,” Meghan noted.

Meghan showed how passionate she is about the subject

Body language expert Judi James analyzed the Sussexes’ mannerisms during the call and shared her findings with The Sun, believing that Prince Harry looked “awkward” when compared to Meghan.

“Is Harry looking increasingly like a fish out of water in the U.S.? His body language in this video link-up looks rather awkward, especially next to his wife,” James shared.

She continued, “Meghan showed glimpses of her skill of speaking passionately about her causes and her ability to inspire people when she was in the UK but with the safety harness of royal restrictions off she is seen relating to and having empathy with young people in a way that Harry, with his privileged upbringing, never could.”

The duchess ‘eclipsed’ Prince Harry with her speaking skills

The expert further shared how Prince Harry at times looked “distracted” while his wife was speaking and pointed to how Meghan shined during the conversation.

“He is clearly eclipsed by her skills of speaking in a calm but passionate inspirational tone and it would be no surprise if he weren’t in awe of her talent to speak from the heart and convey messages that could be life-changing,” James explained. “When Harry does launch into his speech his style is staccato and his gestures look a little over-thought, as though he might be trying to mirror his wife’s passionate style of delivery.”

James shared more thoughts about the Sussexes’ body language with the Daily Mail, echoing many of her comments, with some additional analysis. She found that Prince Harry’s placement during the call made him seem “slightly trapped to one side, with no room to gesticulate and — at the start — no room to speak.”

She added, “Meghan is mesmerizing but Harry either repeats her words or adds a ‘Yeah’ after she makes a point.”
