Meghan Markle’s ‘Suits’ Co-Star Recalls a Time the Duchess ‘Showed Up’ to ‘Save’ Her — As Meghan’s Reputation Controversy Continues
Meghan Markle has been battling against the press — and the people — to protect her reputation for years. The Duchess of Sussex met Prince Harry in 2016, and the two had a whirlwind relationship. They dated for a little more than a year, then were married six months after their engagement. They welcomed their first child, Prince Archie, only about a year after that.
But during that time, the British press set out to make sure Meghan was taken down in the headlines; her reputation has suffered ever since. Now, a clip from a former Suits co-star has resurfaced, showing a different side of the duchess.
Meghan Markle’s co-star once recalled a kind gesture from the duchess
Prior to meeting Harry, Meghan was a star on the USA show Suits. She had quite a following in the United States, and her co-stars to this day have nothing but respect for her. Express recently re-shared a clip that is once again going viral. In the 2014 clip, Meghan’s co-star Sarah Rafferty recalled a moment when she was overwhelmed between motherhood and work — and Meghan came to the rescue.
“I was working until 4:30 in the morning on a Friday night, and my husband was travelling for business, and on Saturday morning at 7:30 — right about 20 minutes after the kids woke up — my front doorbell rings, and it’s Meghan with scones and Starbucks,” Rafferty recalled. She said that Meghan was the one to “show up and save me.”
Meghan has since remained close with most of her former castmates, a number of which attended her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
Meghan Markle continues to fight rumors about her attitude
The Duchess of Sussex has been trying to rebuild her reputation since moving to the United States with Harry in 2020. But in September 2024, The Hollywood Reporter released a bombshell article from alleged former employees of Meghan’s, who claimed that she was awful to work with. The sources were unnamed, but it certainly dealt a major blow to the persona Meghan has been working hard to lift up.
Mandana Dayani, the former COO of Archewell, later told Us Weekly that the words about Meghan were an “injustice” and that the duchess is full of “kindness” and always wants to help people.
The recent attacks on Meghan’s personality and work ethic won’t necessarily ruin her, but words like that would likely have an impact on anyone. Still, it doesn’t mean that Meghan can’t continue to rebuild her brand — and she likely will do everything she can to make that happen.
