It has been a romance that has rivaled that of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III of Monaco. American actress, Meghan Markle, a philanthropist and woman of color from California has fallen in love with Prince Harry, the Prince of Wales, and the world couldn’t be more ecstatic.

After a year-and-a-half romance, the pair wed on May 19, 2018, at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. It was one of the biggest events of the year. From their initial photos together at the Invictus Games in the fall of 2017 to their stunning engagement photos and adorable interview, the couple seems perfect for one another.

However, their romance almost never happened. The former Suits actress initially thought things with her prince were moving way too fast.

We all know that blind dates can go left fast, which is why Markle thought nothing of it when her friend Violet Von Westenholz asked to set her up with a mysterious friend. That friend happened to be our favorite red-headed prince.

According to Andrew Morton’s book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, Markle and Prince Harry met at one of London’s Soho House branches. Apparently, the date was so delightful, that Prince Harry immediately asked to see Markle again the next day and she readily accepted.
