Meghan Markle ‘Three Times Unlucky’ as ‘Toxic Bully’ Claims Ruin Hollywood Dream
Meghan Markle remains at the center of a firestorm surrounding “toxic bully allegations” made in Vanity Fair Magazine. A royal reporter calls the Duchess of Sussex “three times unlucky” as her Hollywood dream dissolves.
Meghan Markle fights back against ‘toxic bully’ allegations
In January 2025, Vanity Fair published a story about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. It detailed the couple’s business ambitions 5 years after leaving royal life behind.
This scathing report was royally unkind to Meghan. It spoke of allegations of her mean behavior toward staffers as well as her and Harry’s lingering issues with the House of Windsor.
TalkTV Host Kevin O’Sullivan believes Meghan personally cultivated a negative environment which will ultimately make Hollywood take a step back from moving forward professionally with her. He shared his thoughts.
Sullivan said, “Meghan Markle is paying the high Hollywood price of toxicity. In the wonderful world of entertainment, you can bob, weave, dodge, and dive. But in the end, mud always sticks.”
“She is said to be devastated by the article who branded her a ‘bullying boss from hell.’ As a result, the beleaguered Duchess of Sussex is in a world of trouble,” Sullivan continued.
“In entertainment, you can dodge and dive, you can bob and weave, and avoid some of the flack. If it happens once, you can maybe get out of it. If it happens twice, if you’re lucky you get out of it.”
Sullivan concluded, “If it happens three times, that’s three times unlucky. And frankly, now, everyone in Hollywood thinks she’s a toxic bully; she’s in big trouble.”
Allegations regarding Meghan Markle’s behavior have been featured 5 times
The claims that allegations made against Meghan Markle are a false narrative (per Prince Harry’s assessment of the situation in Spare) appear to be moot in the face of 5 articles detailing similar behaviors, published by American magazines. Each publication compiled different deep dives into Meghan’s alleged toxic behavior.
First, The Cut spoke of Meghan’s post-royal life in 2022s “Meghan of Montecito.” Second, there was Variety‘s, “It’s Well Past Time for Harry and Meghan 2.0.”
Furthermore, Newsweek spoke of the couple’s popularity decline in, “The More Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Say, the Less Americans Like Them.” Then, The Hollywood Reporter did an expose on the couple, in a story titled, “Why Hollywood Keeps Quitting on Harry and Meghan.”
Finally, Vanity Fair dove into the many allegations of Meghan Markle’s behavior toward her staff. This included rumors of her staff gauging interest in a post-divorce book to publishers.
Why haven’t the couple spoken out against the contents of the Vanity Fair article?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have chosen not to respond to the contents of the Vanity Fair article. They have remained silent about the statements made within the article’s 8,000 words.
Royal PR expert and former communications secretary to the late Queen, Ailsa Anderson, said on A Right Royal Podcast that taking a step back was a conscious effort on the part of the couple. “If you start adding fuel to the fire, then you’re just elongating a story. So, I think there are times to stand up and be counted, and there are times to say nothing.”
Anderson continued, “I think they’re right. Just let it go and move forward. Otherwise, they’ll be creating a story, a further story of their own making.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reside in Montecito, California with their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
