Meghan Markle Wants a Laidback Summer Before ‘Busy’ Fall
Meghan Markle’s plans for the rest of the summer are reportedly all about taking it easy. The Duchess of Sussex wants it to be a summer of “relaxation and enjoyment” for her, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, before things pick up in the fall.
Meghan wants to focus on family and friends before she gets ‘busy’ in the fall
With a “busy autumn” ahead, Meghan and Harry are focusing on packing the summer with “relaxation and enjoyment,” with Archie and Lili (via OK).
Meghan, a source claimed, “wants to use the next couple of months relaxing and having fun after a stressful year so far.”
In March, she unveiled American Riviera Orchard, her new lifestyle brand. She also inked a Lemonada Media deal under which she’ll release a new podcast, which is expected to premiere in 2025.
Her Netflix show about gardening, cooking, and entertaining is on the way. As is the rom-com she and Harry are producing for the streamer.
“She knows she’s got a busy autumn coming up with lots of new work commitments,” the source explained. “So she just wants to concentrate on family and friends this summer as she won’t have as much time for it in the run-up to the end of the year.”
Her summer plans might include Disneyland and glamping
As for what exactly Meghan wants to do, the insider shared that she’s eager for some “more adventurous activities” as Archie and Lili are a little older.
“Archie and Lilibet are at an age now where they can engage in more adventurous activities,” they said. (Archie turned 5 on May 6, 2024, and Lili turned 3 on June 4, 2024.)
“Meghan wants to escape with Harry and the kids to a remote island where they can enjoy family time without any external pressures and in complete luxury.”
Another option is a little closer to their home in Montecito, California. “Meghan has even mentioned a trip to Disneyland, as she knows they will be well cared for there and how much the children would adore it,” they said, noting that “Lili is very fond of Disney princesses right now and would be absolutely thrilled.”
Although “family time is the priority” for Harry and Meghan this summer, Meghan also wants to spend time with her friends on “girly trips,” featuring glamping in a national park.
Prince Harry’s planning a birthday surprise for Meghan later in the summer
Meghan’s summer of “relaxation and enjoyment” will also include her birthday. The former Suits star turns 43, on Aug. 4, 2024.
Harry is said to be planning a surprise for his wife, as is their tradition. “It’s her birthday in August. But she’s letting Harry arrange that and surprise her with something, as he has always done,” the insider said.
Meghan had a quiet birthday celebration in 2023. So a surprise, whether a big party with friends and family or a trip to a far-flung locale, might be on the way.
