Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is back in the U.K. for the final time as a senior working member of the British royal family. Since the duchess and Prince Harry announced their intent to step away from the royal family, the Sussexes have been spending their time in Canada and in the United States, plotting the next phase of their lives.

As of April 1, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will no longer be working members of the British royal family. Instead, they will be working on their own personal ventures and charities as they work toward complete financial independence.

Though the Sussexes have outlined some of their next steps post-Megxit on their website, one of the duchess’ recent surprise visits in the U.K. for International Women’s Day may have unveiled Meghan’s vision for the future.

Meghan Markle may return to her acting roots

Shortly after Megxit was announced, it was revealed that Meghan had inked a voiceover deal with Disney. Since this agreement was signed prior to Megxit, all of the duchess’ earning from her role will go towards the charity, Elephants without Borders.

However, this may not be the last we’ll see of the duchess on the big screen. “[Meghan] has no plans to do another show like Suits, but Harry’s been encouraging her to do more voice-over work, writing, producing and directing in her free time,” a source tells Us Weekly.

Moreover, though TV might not be in Meghan’s vision moving forward, movies might be the Sussexes’ ticket to financial freedom. “She wants her return to acting to be part of an ensemble cast in something like a superhero film,” an alleged insider told Daily Mail. “[Her agent] is actively seeking such a movie for her. He’s saying she is available and open to the best offers. Meghan is planning a series of meetings in Hollywood. She has already done the voiceover for Disney and now word is out that she’s looking for a superhero film, as a voiceover or even on screen. “She knows she can’t carry a film as an actress. People won’t be able to get past the fact she’s Meghan Markle. But she’s determined to act again and she thinks a big, ensemble film is the way to go… something that pays big but which doesn’t put her front and center.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been working on their charity

Though the Sussexes were dealt a major blow when they were told they would have to rebrand and let go of Sussex Royal, that hasn’t stopped the progress they’ve made with their new charitable entity. In mid-February, they went to Stanford University to hold a brainstorming workshop surrounding their charity.

“These plans take a lot of time, and staff are putting in the legwork to prepare it properly and make sure it delivers on the expectations and the couple’s ambitions,” the alleged insider told People. “It’s full throttle for them right now. They have a lot happening in 2020, and it will be really exciting to see.”

Meghan Markle will focus on female empowerment

Meghan has always been passionate about women’s rights. However, her latest move proves that she’s about to become more outspoken than ever before. On March 6, the duchess made a secret visit to Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham, England, where she spoke at an assembly recognizing the achievements of women.

“When we thought about what I wanted to do for International Women’s Day this year, for me it was incredibly important to be with the women of our future,” Meghan said in a speech to students. “And that is all of the young women here, as well as the young men who play a very large part in this. Specifically coming to your school made a lot of sense for me because of this social justice and the impact that it’s rooted in.”

The duchess has already stated that part of her charity work will focus on “women’s empowerment, gender equality, and education.

What an exciting time.
