Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were once friends with David and Victoria Beckham until they had a major fallout.

It’s been reported that the reason for their rift stems from the duke accusing the soccer’s star wife of leaking stories about Meghan to the press, which infuriated David. It was also claimed in Tom Bower’s book Revenge that Harry asked David to fly 22 hours to Australia to attend an Invictus Games event with him but had no intention of meeting him there. According to Bower, Harry decided to keep his distance because Meghan did not want any “competition” in the media from David or Victoria.

But even though they don’t speak to each other anymore, it seems there is some competition between Victoria and Meghan. Here’s more on that and how an expert says Victoria may get “revenge.”

Source says the Beckhams photo was a ‘humiliating slap’ in Meghan’s face

The Beckhams have maintained a good relationship with the royal family despite Harry and Meghan’s grievances about the Firm. In 2022, David and Victoria chose to invite Prince William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) to their son Brooklyn’s wedding over Meghan and Harry, even though the Sussexes invited the former Spice Girl and athlete to their wedding.

And recently David spent time with Harry’s father as he is now The King’s Foundation charity ambassador. Moreover, in December, the Beckhams were pictured with former U.S. president Barack Obama at a charitable event which a source told Closer was a real blow to Meghan. It’s believed that the Obamas decided to distance themselves from the Sussexes out of respect for the late Queen Elizabeth.

“It’s another humiliating slap in the face,” the insider said, adding, “The Obamas were Meghan’s dream ticket to political success and she put a lot of work into building on their relationship.”

Furthermore, the duke and duchess’s docuseries was dethroned as the most-watched docuseries on Netflix when the Beckhams’ documentary was released on the same platform in 2023.

Victoria will get the ‘ultimate revenge’ if this happens to Meghan’s brand

Now, an expert says in the midst of this ongoing rift, Victoria might get some satisfaction if Meghan has a problem selling products via her new American Riviera Orchard lifestyle brand. Denise Palmer-Davies, Brand expert and Director at Borne Media, explained that the market is tough and it’s unrealistic for everyone to think they can replicate Gwyneth Paltrow’s goop.

“It is a difficult market to crack — even Victoria has had her obstacles — as it is so saturated,” Palmer-Davies explained to The Sun. “But given their fallout, the skeptic in me wonders if she’d be secretly pleased if it did backfire. That would be the ultimate revenge wouldn’t it?”

Meghan applied for trademarks to sell numerous products such as cosmetics, home décor, stationery, linens, small kitchen appliances, condiments, yoga equipment, gardening gear, pet accessories, tableware, wallpaper, pillows, furniture, picture frames, jewelry, and jarred food products. So far, the duchess has produced 50 jars of strawberry jam which she gifted to her friends and social media influencers.
