Meghan McCain’s Behavior on ‘The View’ Is Being Discussed After Sharon Osbourne’s Exit From ‘The Talk’

Sharon Osbourne has exited 'The Talk' amid a highly-publicized controversy surrounding the show. Ever since then, fans have been calling out Meghan McCain, another TV star known for stirring up drama, hoping she'll also be removed from her post on 'The View.'

After a 10-year tenure on The Talk, Sharon Osbourne has exited the show. Her departure comes after a controversial exchange with one of her co-hosts and complaints of other misconduct. In the midst of the news, some people have been talking about controversial TV personality Meghan McCain, speculating her behavior might lead to her exit on The View.

The Sharon Osbourne controversy explained

This all started when Osbourne defended Piers Morgan on Twitter after he said he didn’t believe things Meghan Markle said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, which premiered on March 7.

She continued to take up for him on the March 10 episode of The Talk, leading to a tense discussion with co-host Sheryl Underwood, who pointed out racial undertones in Morgan’s remarks. Osbourne grew increasingly upset throughout the conversation to the point that she fully snapped at Underwood.

“Educate me, tell me when you have heard him say racist things,” she demanded. “Educate me! Tell me!”

But even when Underwood explained, Osbourne continued to challenge her in a way that many people felt was completely insensitive.

She would eventually apologize for her actions in a statement posted on Twitter, saying she “panicked, felt blindsided, got defensive & allowed my fear & horror of being accused of being racist take over.” However, the drama continued as former co-hosts came forward and accused Osbourne of racism and other misdeeds.

The Talk went on hiatus as the network launched a review into the March 10 discussion. Then a few days later, CBS announced that she would no longer appear on the show.

“The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home. As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon’s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace,” a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter said in part.

The situation made some people think of Meghan McCain on ‘The View’

As Pop Culture notes, some viewers have expressed hope that McCain might also get removed from her post.

Since she joined The View in 2017, the conservative panelist has often created controversy with her blunt opinions and blow-ups with other co-hosts. More recently, she came under fire over a statement she made in March 2020, when she said she didn’t mind then-President Donald Trump calling the coronavirus the “Chinese virus.” As violence against Asians reportedly continues to rise, McCain took to Twitter to apologize for her remarks.

“I condemn the reprehensible violence and vitriol that has been targeted towards the Asian-American community,” she wrote. “There is no doubt Donald Trump’s racist rhetoric fueled many of these attacks and I apologize for any past comments that aided that agenda.”
