Melissa Joan Hart Reveals the 4 Props She Has From ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’
It’s been decades since Sabrina the Teenage Witch first aired but Melissa Joan Hart still has reminders of the TV show in her home all these years later.
Melissa Joan Hart rose to fame on ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’
After playing the title character on Clarissa Explains It All Hart landed the lead role as Sabrina Spellman on Sabrina the Teenage Witch. A high school student new to witchcraft, Sabrina lived with her aunts, Hilda (Caroline Rhea) and Zelda (Beth Broderick), while learning about her powers. Salem Saberhagen, the family’s talking cat, served as her sidekick and confidant.
Sabrina the Teenage Witch premiered on ABC in September 1996. It went off the air in 2003 after seven seasons. Hart had successfully made the transition from child actor to full-fledged Hollywood star by the time the series ended.
In 1999, Hart made a cameo in Britney Spears’ music video for the song, “(You Drive Me) Crazy.” The same year she also starred in the teen movie, Drive Me Crazy, opposite Entourage actor, Adrian Grenier. Today, Hart’s still acting. She played the lead role in the sitcom, Melissa & Joey, and continues to land both TV and movie roles.

While discussing her family’s permanent move to Lake Tahoe, California, with Architectural Digest in 2019, Hart reminisced on Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The 44-year-old revealed she has not one but four keepsakes from the show.
“I have a mirror that hung in the kitchen and this umbrella holder that is wrought iron. I don’t know how I got that to my house,” she said. “I also have candlestick holders and a sign from an episode that was based on The Crucible that says, ‘Witches Brew.’ It’s hanging in my kitchen.”

Melissa Joan Hart’s not sure about a ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ reboot
Will Sabrina the Teenage Witch be the latest program to get a TV reboot? Fans want one but it doesn’t appear that any substantial steps have been taken toward getting the show back on the air. Addressing the idea of a reboot in 2016, Hart said she’s asked about it often.
“There’s a lot of talk about a Sabrina reboot,” she told ABC. “I feel like almost every day, somebody’s calling me about it. Would we do it? Should we do it? How do we do it?”
“I think the thing about reboots is they’re really hard to do,” she added. “They’re hard to do right. I think sometimes it’s better to just leave it in the past unless you do it really, really great.”
While fans eagerly await a Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot, every season of the series is available to stream on Hulu.
