Meri Brown Calls Her Relationship With Kody Brown a Mixture of ‘High Hopes and Dashed Realities, Dreams Come True and Broken Hearts’
Meri Brown is nearly two years removed from announcing the end of her marriage to Kody Brown. In the years since the announcement, she opened a new business, forged a new life, and developed a keen sense of humor. The Sister Wives star might be happy in her new life, but she isn’t against reflecting on the past. In a recent Instagram post, the small business owner described what it was like being married to Kody Brown.
Meri Brown describes her marriage to Kody Brown on Instagram
Meri Brown’s Instagram account is worth a look for any Sister Wives fan. The Utah resident has spent the last several months keeping fans updated on what is going on in her life. Now that season 19 of the series is in full swing, Meri is even getting a bit introspective. In a recent post, she noted that the 35th anniversary of her and Kody Brown’s meeting had just passed. She used the milestone anniversary as a chance to reflect on what her life has been like thus far.
In a sentimental post, Meri said her life since meeting Kody has been “a mixture of high hopes and dashed realities, dreams come true and broken hearts.” She went on to say that she’s still moving forward and breaking the “teethers” that tied her to her former life, though she insists they aren’t teethers to Kody Brown. Meri seems happy and in a much better mental space than ever before. While she remembered the anniversary, she isn’t pining for Kody any longer. Viewers have been longing to see that for years.
When did Kody Brown and Meri Brown officially split?
Meri Brown and Kody Brown officially called it quits in January 2023 with a public statement posted to Instagram. That’s not when they stopped functioning as a married couple or living in the same state.
Meri had moved on from her marriage months before the official announcement, and Kody was over it years earlier. The first indication that Meri had left her plural marriage behind came in 2022. During season 18 of Sister Wives, Meri told Kody and Robyn Brown that she planned to base her business in Utah and spend less time in Flagstaff. Since then, Meri has given up her home in Arizona. She doesn’t have any dealings with Robyn or Kody.
While Meri was ready to call it on her marriage in 2022, she didn’t need to. Kody had effectively ended their union many years earlier. In a recent Sister Wives episode, Kody told Meri Brown that he hadn’t “liked” her for six years. Meri noted that it had been much longer. While the couple claimed they were still spiritually wed, their marriage appears to have ended around the time they filed for a legal divorce, if not earlier. Kody won’t put a date on it, but Sister Wives fans essentially believe the marriage was over prior to the 2015 catfishing incident.
