Sister Wives has spent almost 15 years watching the Brown family navigate and then leave behind polygamy. Many viewers believed they were getting the family’s real story in the hit TLC show — but that was not the case.

In fact, with each passing day, Kody Brown’s three former wives are sharing more and more private moments that highlight Kody’s favoritism and pettiness. Meri Brown recently shared a memory that makes it clear Kody had a favorite wife and would use his treatment of her to hurt his other partners.

Meri Brown says Kody Brown tricked her into helping him buy art for Robyn Brown

Kody Brown’s first wife, Meri Brown, spent years trying to get back in Kody Brown’s good graces. In 2023, she gave up and moved on with her life. While she seems happier and healthier than ever, the past still weighs on her. In a recent Live event, Meri revealed an interaction with Kody Brown that proves he was always cruel and petty.

Meri, with her friend Jenn Sullivan, took to social media to talk about her life. During the chat, she revealed she and Kody Brown once went out to look at art. Meri said she admired the work and pointed out a piece she liked. Kody purchased a piece of art that day but told Meri it would be hanging in Robyn Brown’s house. He then told her she could go there to look at it. Jenn, who has made her feelings about Kody known, asked Meri why she didn’t just push him off a cliff. The Live event has been shared on TikTok.

While Meri’s anecdote about artwork is new for Sister Wives fans, they are no strangers to Kody’s petty and hurtful tactics, especially regarding Meri Brown. Last year, Christine Brown revealed that Kody had melted down a wedding ring that Meri had gifted him. Meri was livid at Christine for telling the story, and fans lambasted the mother of six for looking positively giddy as she embarrassed Meri.

More recently, Meri revealed that Kody had given her a lengthy list of things he expected her to do for him before he would work on their marriage. Meri said that she completed his list of demands, only for him to decide he was not interested in working on things with her.

Meri Brown appears to have been on the receiving end of many of Kody’s cruelest moments, but she wasn’t his only victim. Kody was mean, cold, and hurtful towards his other two wives, as well. More stories will surely come as the former family grows further and further apart.
